Hello! So as the title says I have been hearing footsteps in my: HardCore world/SinglePlayer worlds/Realms/and the semi vanilla server I play on.

I spend a lot of my time at level 12 in semi vanilla. I had just put wood floors in and that's when I first heard the footsteps. They don't sound like mob footsteps, they are kinda random and sound like the player. Now, I know that there wasn't a raider in my base because that base exists to this day. I assumed it was the admins in my base but I started hearing it in my hardcore world I started getting spooked. (Since I only have one life it's actually kinda scary). In realms Ill hear it too, I know it's not my friends invisible because I can't find any potion particle affects. Plus some times I'm the only one on. The footsteps always sound like they are in my base. Not outside not under or over but inside my home/shack/castle/vaults even.

Semi vanilla server: Easy to say that it could be a player. But I'm still not so sure.

HardCore/SinglePlayer World: I don't know of any mobs that have constant walking or sound like players.

Realms: (Easter Egg?) You can invite Herobrine to your realms. His face and name will appear on the player list. My sister invited him to realms, but so far I haven't seen him. I don't know if he is causing the footsteps because he is never on.

If you're on by yourself, it's probably a zombie walking next to your base or inside your base if not well lit.

once I heard drinking potion sound two times in my world. probably a bug, I wouldn't worry about that.

You can mark Herobrine off your list, as discussion about him is forbidden in the forums.

It's an animal or mob walking on a similar block somewhere near you. Either that or slight sound lag.

No it's not myself walking And zombies sound squishy when they walk unlike players. Oh I didn't know herobrine is forbidden I'm sorry.

Just so people know. I'm not new to minecraft Ive been playing for awhile. I keep my base well lit.

If you didn't know I think even if you stand still it still makes player sounds.

Oh really? That's kinda odd and it's creepy too.

Oh I think I know! Like Matt said, there must be a bug ether delaying or randomly playing walk noises even when you are standing still.

That would make sense. I wonder if they have already fixed this in 1.8?

Probably delay lag. Nothing to worry about.
