Hey everyone so I was on my server and we had some guys on that threatened to DDoS us and Force OP the server. We have DDoS protection on the server but I have not heard of Force OP before. Are they literally going to become OPs on the server with this?
Anyone claiming to offer a "force OP" threat against a Minecraft server is almost certainly either attempting a hoax or falsely believes that "force OP" utilities work as advertised. If the capability ever existed, Mojang very likely would have addressed it with a server security fix.
All of the "force OP" utilities I have ever seen offered on these forums have either been hoaxes, phishing utilities (for stealing Minecraft account information), or contained viruses or other malware. If you ever see anyone posting a "force OP" download on the forum, be sure to report it so that the forum staff can remove the thread or post.
I really wouldn't worry about this. It sounds like you're dealing with a troll. If you have DDos protection, you're fine. Personally, I would ignore this troll/griefer and get on with running my server. You have better things to worry about!

There's no reason to be scared but if you feel like they are about too do it ban them before they can do it. But make sure your 80% sure it will actually happen and there not a 8 year old hiding behind a computer.
'Force OP' was a short-lived spoofing exploit that allowed people to OP or perform other commands on a server through a victim. It was fixed quite a while ago.

LOL, force OP is a myth. All of the downloads on the internet are basic peices of "hello world" level code that are just a bunch of useless text boxes and buttons. They are all either key loggers to get your info or just something to trick you into downloading something nasty like a virus or malware. Don't worry, there is NO way that he can force OP you. He is as legit as a 10 year old who says his dad works for Microsoft and will ban you from xbox live.
