Okay, so I was on a server having a good time, playing some kit PvP, until a donator comes up with his OP armor and kills me instantly with his fire-enchanted sword. Then, every time I drop down onto the PvP arena, he constantly keeps killing me. That's not the first time something like this has happened from a donator.
They always get so many more advantages, simply because their mommy and daddy spoil them and buy them ranks. I'm sick and tired of it. I've been muted, kicked and even banned from servers, because the ignorant server administrators decided that no matter how mature they are, donators get muting rights. And most of the time, donators are 11 and under!
Just because donators have money, they get to ruin the freaking game for the people that can't afford ranks. (which sometimes can be costly. Mineplex - I'm looking at you) Well let me tell you: I've just about had it. Anyone else feel the same way?

1) Servers cost money. People who donate are literally paying the bills and allowing the server to continue. Without them, the server very well may not exist.
2) If you don't like a server, don't use it. If enough people do that then the 3 people donating will just kill each other over and over until they get bored and quit, and the servers go under. Hopefully you'll find a better server or get together with some friends and make your own.
3) The internet is full of jerks. Unless you personally know every single person on a server the chances of having a good time are almost nil.
They pay to keep the server alive, and how else do you get people to pay without giving them stuff? I have 2 friends who are donaters on mineplex, and they help me a lot. I am chatbanned on mineplex because my little brother was spamming in capital letters, so they chat for me. If you know them, they will help you. If not, too bad.
I would personally say Do Not Play there then. If you see such, then just leave the server. More less these kind of servers will be/are illegal now by Mojang's revised EULA.
Donations that in return get you something like a game-play changing kit, is not a donation, it is an purchase trying to use the term "donation" as a cover up.
Can I sell “kits” for hard currency if I provide a balanced alternative for non-paying users?
If the “kits” contain gameplay-affecting features they are not allowed. Gameplay balance is not relevant to the EULA. If the items included in the kit are purely cosmetic, you can charge real money/hard currency.
Can I sell ranks on my server?
Yes. Ranks are allowed so long as any perks gained are cosmetic. Coloured names, prefixes, special hats etc. are fine.
Mojang has also had enough. They updated the EULA recently so that things like that (known as Play-to-Win) won't occur anymore (or, if they do, it's probably illegal).

Oops, that was 3 sides.
Here's the thing:
"Servers cost money. People who donate are literally paying the bills and allowing the server to continue. Without them, the server very well may not exist." I am so annoyed by how many people say this. Let's take, well, Mineplex as an example. (given that it IS the biggest Minecraft network) For Hero rank, it costs 60 bucks. For Ultra rank, it costs 30. There are approximately 20,000 people that join the server daily. Figure that on a weekly basis, let's say 50 people buy at least Ultra rank. That is $1,500. A week. You cannot tell me that is at least a bit of an overkill.
"The internet is full of jerks. Unless you personally know every single person on a server the chances of having a good time are almost nil." There are 300,000,000+ people that use the internet. You cannot honestly tell me that every single one of them are jerks.
EULA is going to save Minecraft. Sure, donators are going to be pissed off because their money went to waste, but donating literally means "something that is given to a charity, especially a sum of money." There is nothing in that definition about receiving anything. Paying money to receive something would be called a transaction. And the only time that "hard" transactions are heard of in video games are in pay-to-win games. Which are free in the first place.

Not until August 1st. And I can't just "not play on the server", considering every single server has some form of unfair ranks.

If they are "paying to keep the server alive" Then they should be paying because they enjoy the server, and want to see it grow. Not so they can mute people for no reason, kill them, then laugh in their face.
This is exactly the reason why I've completely abandoned public Minecraft servers. I really wish I could play multiplayer, but I'd rather not become infuriated all the time.
I agree with you, but I also can't argue with the fact that servers need money. I think things like hats and pets should be what are given though, not something that literally makes it so the donators are so powerful that it drives away people who can't afford to donate. Servers like that might as well just put up a membership fee.
Also there are a lot of small servers that do not have crazy ranks, you just don't see them because the big servers advertise a lot and have a lot of votes because they have a lot of players and they get gifts when they vote. So the big servers go on the top of the list.
It's pretty hard to find a good server, you have to go mining around or fishing around the minecraft forum until you find something.
Edit: Actually it is not really that hard, just looking under Recent Server Ads on the homepage of the forum and you may find a bunch already.
I Hate Donators. I'm Trying Play Hunger Games When My Friends 5 Year Old Brother Comes On & 1 Shots Me. I Rage Quit.
My Cousin Was Like "I've Got An Optifine Cape And Everybody Loves Me Cause Of It" And I'm Like"No-one Likes Donators"
He says"Your Jelly"
And I Say "Just Cause Your Rich Doesn't Make You Better. You Shouldn't Buy OP Armour When Others Have To Actually Play The Game Properly"
Donators Suck!
There's nothing wrong with donating to OptiFine because the cape doesn't give you any illegal perks or anything. It's not the result from a transaction, it's actually a thank-you for donating, unlike server perks.
