Okay, fine, I get it, but I'll just point out that there are 3 types of rules: rules, rules-that-nobody-follows-because-they-are-so-stupid, and unwritten rules, take your pick. And who's going to arrest a kid's mom for buying her 7 year old minecraft? Really... nobody's getting shipped off to prison for that. Point is: It doesn't matter.

just because nobody cares it doesn't change the fact minecraft is not made for kids. point is: my good sir, you are wrong.
Your poll doesn't make sense either. This is not a yes or no question...

Message me yours if you want to trade in Animal Crossing: New Leaf or just need some friends to play with. I can also do Pokemon trades in Pokemon X(or Y), but I don't have any good stuff, and the only good stuff I have is not for trade so...send me requests anyway.

I never said it was made for kids, and maybe minecraft isn't great for all kids but is good for many. Honestly it's just an all around game for many ages, I don't think it's worth arguing who should and should not play it. (that's what I interpreted from your arguments, so correct me if I'm wrong)

So according to EULA the base age requirement is 13. You say people 16-30 are too old. That means that [according to you] mojang decided to base a game around a 3 year age range. What a horrid business model for a game. When you enter you age information on a site it's really just so they can block you from playing once you hit 16, obviously. Honestly this game is for anyone who wants to pay for it [I bet you didn't as you're probably too young to even have a job]. Even then age requirements are more to give you an idea of the level of mature content, there are plenty of people below thirteen who enjoy the game and are mature enough to handle it and that's fine, just as it's fine for people like me [at age 21] to enjoy it.
I never said it was made for kids, and maybe minecraft isn't great for all kids but is good for many. Honestly it's just an all around game for many ages, I don't think it's worth arguing who should and should not play it. (that's what I interpreted from your arguments, so correct me if I'm wrong)
maybe you are right, english is not my native language so I wouldn't be surprised if my words are not very understandable. in my opinion minecraft is not made for kids, it is a game for all ages, so both "minecraft is for older people" or "minecraft is for younger people" is wrong. I hope it is more understandable now, and if you disagree with me it's perfectly fine.
New member here, and Im 40, my kid got me hooked on Minecraft. I like to run youtube in the background on some stand up comedy and spend hours mining. I have one of the longest streight mineshafts with rail that I have heard of, and I spend hours just veging and mining away. Its how I unwind, lets me just turn off the brain and relax. I work a high stress job, and a lot of long hours, this is way better to me than watching tv.
It's not specifically a kids game, kids play it, but that doesn't make it a kids game. Stampy is around 24, Sky is like 20, other youtubers probably similar ages, DanTDM around 22, they all still play it and there is no problem with that. And plenty of teens play it.
If just children played this game then all it would be is raid after raid after raid. Grief grief grief raid raid raid, hey look I made boobs! Then they got griefed. That would be the tone to Minecraft and it would have died a long time ago with out us "old" people (26) so you're welcome.
Not exactly a kids game, iv been plays since 2010 and im 17 almost 18 now, I guess I'm grandfathered in but hell i think its a good thing, bigger community is always more fun.
if only kids played minecraft it wouldn't be one of the top selling games, with us older gamers we bring all the good stuff from mods to buildings n maps
Since someone necro'd this thread, I have to chime in here.
I really have to wonder about the people who apparently pick some age (16, in the OP's case ... wow ... just wow) at which they're going to stop having fun forever. Do they actually stick to it? Or do they get to 16 and figure they'll have fun for just a little bit longer before they give it up and push the age off to 18, and then maybe beyond that? And what do they do after they finally do reach their cutoff point where they're never going to have fun again? What do they do for the rest of their lives? How can they stand years, decades, of utter grimness? What happens if they're halfway through a big build and their 16th birthday comes. Are they allowed to finish? Is it okay to print out a screenshot to reminisce about?
If we just stick with the Biblical "three score and ten" -- that's 70 -- years, the OP is saying that people should stop playing games when they're "older" -- 16+ -- so for the vast majority of their lives, the next 60 years, they can't play games (and are, from what children have said elsewhere, supposed to devote themselves to satisfying the desires of children, not actually acting like human beings themselves) They can design games, they can build games, they can sell games, but they can't play them.
That's just a little ridiculous, isn't it?
The bottom line is that Minecraft is for everybody who wants to play. There is no maximum age. I've met a lady in her 70s who played (her grandkids got her interested, and she kept on playing when they quit). I know people in this forum in their 60s, at least. More important, people who grew up playing computer games aren't going to stop at some mystical no-fun-anymore cutoff age, any more than they're going to stop reading books or watching TV or eating ice cream, even though kids do those things too. They're going to keep right on playing Minecraft. And playing with Legos, for that matter. And doing whatever else they happen to think is fun. In fact, that's a big part of what being an adult is: being able to have fun any (legal) way you can. Minecraft is one of those ways.
Why should we worry about someone else's age or even our own when we can just enjoy playing the game.

You show me where on earth it says by Mojang that this is a "kids game".
