Minecraft isn't specifically a kids game, where did you get that idea? Yes, there are kids that play Minecraft, but that doesn't automatically make it a kids game, kids also play Call of Duty. There are definitely older people that enjoy playing Minecraft, so why stop them?
I will be twenty two next month. I take offense to you calling me an old man, really. I have another fifty years yet before I take interest in shuffleboard and oatmeal.
You are in a virtual world. If you stay cooperative, friendly and respectful then age should never matter.
Older generations playing Minecraft allows for a more broad perspective and a greater diversity. The fact that Minecraft can attract very young and older groups is astonishing, and I suspect that is to due with the broad goals of this game, including building, surviving, and gaming.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

Like the guys above me said minecraft was never specifically created just for kids with minecraft age doesnt matter it only depends on whether the person likes the survival sandbox genre, and when you think about it without the "older" part of the community minecraft wouldn't be what it is today some examples of what i mean are:
1. No mods, some of the worthy mods if not all the mods come from the older community mostly from college students who've learned to code and such (and correct me if im wrong but i don't think there are schools that'll teach kids game coding and such)
2. No dedicated servers, yes some kids do host servers but they wouldn't really last long because, school and no plugins to make the servers fun or to protect the server (because plugins are made by the college students mentioned above).
3. No YouTube videos, the more interesting videos are done by the older community, the younger youtubers don't really get much attention.
4. No Nether or End, neither of them are kid friendly, even if kids like them the devs probably wouldn't add them if it was a kids game though
5. Nerfed hostile mobs, skeletons, zombies, spiders and creepers would probably still be in the game but less dangerous.
6. No Endermen, to spooky for the younger audience haha JK but probably not...
7. Redstone would be useless, No college nerds to build massive redstone contraptions or to show the kids how to build simple stuff.
8. No adventure maps or maps in general or very little anyway, again school would get in the way, and kids get bored easily (i know i was one once)
anyway that's just a few things that without the older audience minecraft wouldn't have... but yeah i agree that there are some games adults shouldn't play but minecraft isnt one of those games.
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.
I'm old!? Well in that case, I apologize for playing a game meant for you.
When you get older (and I don't mean sixteen; that's not old), you'll more likely realize that age is literally just a number... or not. Sadly, even many adults of all ages don't realize this. Many adults think playing games is "childish". I don't know how old you are, OP, but I promise that you inside, I'm just as much (or maybe more?) of a "kid" as you. I mean, come on, I still apparently live the whole princess fantasy thing and that's for like nine year old girls, right?
Your age is just how long you've been on this planet. It's childish to let that be a factor and dictate what you want to do.
Big deal, I've played with people as old as 49 on servers. But I've heard of people who play Minecraft who are much older.

16-30, seriously... Is like yo unsaying "What do you think about young people saying CoD? You will get offended, right? Look at all the servers, most of them are made by players older than you, so yea.
Minecraft is not only for kids.I play it and I'm 15.SkyDoesMinecraft is like 20 and he keeps the game popular.Just like Hypixel making maps,I doubt he is a kid.Kids playing Minecraft doesn't make it a kids game.CoD population is mostly kids, yet the game is still rated 17+.Minecraft is rated E10+.But yet adults and teens find it entertaining.
Minecraft isn't a kids game, my friend. Kids games are on websites like Disney and such. And you should realize that age is just a number, everyone is equal no matter how old or how young.
Lol, wow I must have skipped over that, 16 is far from old XD. You start breaking the barrier of young and old once you get into your late 50's in my opinion. This is definitely not a child's game, nowhere has it been defined as a child's game.
Why would you ask something like this? Adults are allowed to play video games, aren't they? So why should they miss out on one of the greatest games ever made?

The same goes to any other games... except for an underage playing R18 game.

EDIT: Also the quoting system in this new forum format is largely unintuitive..
Minecraft is for everyone, I only get mad when people think kids should not play MC
