When you play minecraft what do you like to do? Do you developed mods? Do you prefer to
mine? What about building or exploring or multiplayer? How do you spend your time in the endless game of MC?
Personally, I prefer to play on servers, because there are more things to do, and you
get to do them with/against real people around the world
I play Minecraft to survive and adventure, hoping to find epic loot! for which I can use survival wise or creative building wise, also I play it because it's beautiful scenery and atmospheric feel.
oh and to slay that ender dragon of course.
(I used to play allot of BF3 but now I mostly plat minecraft and dream about the possibilities)
My forum name is pretty self-explanatory, as is my signature and the spoiler below:
This is a rendering of the caves I've explored in my current world so far; I've mined over 20,000 coal ore, 8,000 iron ore, several thousand gold/redstone/lapis/etc, and over 200 diamond ore (54 diamond blocks with Fortune III - which I even use to mine coal...), and have used nearly 15,000 torches to light them up (the mapping utility I used, MCMap, only shows caves that have torches in them, which is why I use it):
(all of those yellow dots are torches, you can also see part of a mine I made when I started out in the upper-left)
Also, here's a comparison of caves between a normal 1.7+ world and my world (both 400x400 blocks), which also has 3 times the ground depth (~192 blocks from bedrock to the surface):
I'm currently exploring the massive cave system you see on the right; it is on the left side of the rendering above, which was rotated to show caves better.
In addition, here is a surface rendering of my world; you can see how deep the ground is (as well as some massive caves and ravines exposed on the sides):
PS: Minecraft was originally called "Cave Game", which might as well be its current name as far as I'm concerned.
I play minecraft mainly on singleplayer survival, mapmaking and testing new redstone/command block contraptions/devices. To me, minecraft is where I can speak my mind freely, and whatever i feel, I would build it into my singleplayer world.
To me it's a great game. Long time back the graphics didn't appeal to me and felt it was strange for people my age to play. I would like to create mods and textures someday, to share my ideas with the community, but I have so many other things going on ~ a sick grandmother, my mom had surgery and isn't working atm. So, it's pretty hectic. In addition, my financial situation isn't good and hoping things get better in my life.
I like building, messing with technical stuff (presets, redstone, block mechanics, and commands), and pointlessly finding strongholds in creative and making shelters out of them.
hrmm.... tough question, however, i believe i am a builder. i have built many things like a castle, a two-story house with 3 stables, a large backyard, a dog house, an above-ground deck, and i have built a giant enderman statue with glowstone wings, a torch, and a little grass thing at the bottom (in the end) but i use minecraft as an escape from reality. (i sometimes think that in minecraft, i am controlling another dimension that has not yet been explored) but lets all face it, minecraft is addicting! :3
I like to work on my not yet out Bukkit server, play on other multiplayer servers, and do survival with cheats. (TooManyItems) And sometimes survival, when I'm in the mood.
I play single player creative. I've been building an ancient maya/roman hybrid city for more than a year, at this point. So far, I've constructed 1/2 mile or more, true to scale. If you were to tour it in "walk" mode, it would take you an hour or more to view most of it...and you would get lost, for sure - construction goes down to bedrock, and very very high. Anyway, that's my thing. It's more like a job, I give it 2 - 3 hours a day. Occasionally, I take a several days off. I don't to multi-player - I've had too many bad experiences with the immature players other games.
When I play Minecraft, I'm usually not even playing vanilla Minecraft, I've gotten fed up with it. I'm usually playing the Feed the Beast modpacks, and I go hardcore mining; in regular minecraft the only reason why you would need to hardcore mine is to acquire resources for buildings, in FTB I have to go epic mining and crafting otherwise I'll have no resources to build systems.
I play multiplayer, but it's usually with my real life friends, anything else I can't do because I'll end up just playing a PvP Minecraft server and realizing I could be playing something else more worth my time in 45 seconds.
Depends on what I feel like doing. Technical stuff, building, mining, nether fortress looting, mapping, mass-engineering, map-making, interacting...
Of all of these I think nether fortress hunting and looting is probably the most exciting. It feels like an Indiana Jones-type adventure and has loot that is sure to make you cheerful.
A) Become a hermit and seclude myself from the rest of the population and just come into major towns to trade or group up with people to do any sort of server-unique stuff.
Start my own town and try to set up a nice community where everyone helps everyone. I'll very often find myself giving extra resources to friends and allies as to help them out. Besides, when I need something, I know they'll have my back.
When I play singleplayer, however, I mostly play hardcore and just... see how far I can get.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
