Minecraft is a kid's game - everybody knows that. Even so, teenagers, and even 30+ year-olds willingly admit to playing it. When you talk with your friends, are you hesitant to admit that you play Minecraft at all, or could you care less about what they think?
Random topic, yes. I'm just bored and want some insight on others' thoughts about these "situations."
EDIT: Okay, let me reiterate the question, because there are waaay too many of you guys taking the "kid's game" part far too seriously:
"Are you uncomfortable with admitting that you play Minecraft to other people?", is what I meant to say, I guess.
As someone in their mid 20s, no I'm not embarrassed. It is a game, and a fun one at that. That would be like being embarrassed about liking a show aimed for kids or movies aimed towards kids. I also like Batman: TAS and quite a few Disney movies and it isn't a big deal.
That being said, I find the people who take it too far to be annoying sometimes, especially when they won't let you forget that they like it. Like the Sky Army, Bronies, Trekkies, etc. It is fine to like things, but if I'm not interested in something I ask they respect that and not bring it up constantly, just like I would with things they don't like.

Everybody knows that? Even the millions of people who are not kids but play Minecraft anyway?
Why do you think it's a kids' game? Just because it isn't centered around blood and gore? Believe it or not, adults do not actually require blood and gore in our computer games. Just because some games (GTA comes to mind) are not suitable for children doesn't mean that games that don't fall into that category aren't suitable for adults.
The other day, I met a lady who played Minecraft with her grandson.
The oldest person I know the age of in these forums is over 60.
I wear a creeper pin on my hat, so I meet a lot of people who say "Oh, you play Minecraft?" They've ranged in age from about 12 to 50+. And I may be underestimating the age on the upper end.
And no, I'm not embarrassed to admit playing Minecraft. I wear a creeper pin on my hat.
I don't see why playing Minecraft would be considered embarrassing. I just play it when I feel like it and my non-gamer family members don't ask any question because video games to them are alien technology.
I don't talk about my hobbies to random people offline and it has nothing to do with embarrassment. I don't want to tell them and a lot probably don't care.
I think a few of you are taking this a tad out of context - I'm not implying that we should be embarrassed to play Minecraft, by any means. Nor was I being 100% literal when I said it was a kid's game. 'Twas a figure of speech. xD
I wouldn't say Minecraft is "kid's game" it's for everyone really. You stated yourself that even grown up play it so it can't be labeled just a kid's game. Then again I never understood the requirements a game needs to be considered just a "kid's game" (besides the usual blood, language, etc.)
To answer the OP's question, I don't see how you can get embarrassed for playing Minecraft. To be honest at this point if you're in your early to late teens and haven't seen or even heard of Minecraft, I would say that's hard to believe haha.
On another note; What does Minecraft have specifically that makes it only a kid's game. This is just a question for not only Minecraft but for any other game that are said to be a kid's game but played by all ages. I personally think a kid's game is considered a game that is only played by kids and is considered weird if a person of older age plays it. It's kinda hard to talk about this type of thing because there are tons of people who play Minecraft from young to old and it's been like that for several years.
Just because Minecraft is simple and relatively passive, it doesn't mean it's a kid's game. And no, I have no reason to be embarrassed because i play minecraft.
If it's "just a kid's game" then you'd better chalk me up as being in my second childhood.
I suspect that I'm pretty close to the top end of the bell curve of player ages.
And I don't have a grand child sitting with me while I play.
I was turned on to Minecraft by my youngest daughter a couple of years ago.
She just turned 21. Her sister is 20 years older than she is.

I'm North of 30 and obviously I'm not embarrassed about playing a video game.... I'm a gamer. Just because the generations that started gaming are getting older doesn't mean we grow out of it or that we should grow out of it.
Like others have said, blood and gore isn't required for adults to enjoy a game, and even then, there are games intended for children that can be enjoyable even for adults.
A KID'S GAME? You've GOT to be kidding me. Just because there isn't Chuck Norris style gunfights, zombies from Call of Duty, etc. does not make it a kid's game. Honestly you people really tick me off.
And if the My Little Pony fandom has adults and boys, why would I be embarassed? Why would I keep the game icon pinned to my desktop?
