Sometimes I read about, hear about, or see some players' awesome builds/worlds. They've made a stunning castle, clever automated farms, full-scale railway tracks transporting goods and linking different fortresses, extremely complex and imaginative Redstone mechanisms, etc. And then there's me. I feel like I haven't done much in the game.
I've had the game since around Halloween 2012, and in that time, I've racked up a solid 250-320 hours on Minecraft. But I've never really done much in it that stands out. Both in Survival and Creative. When I think about it, I don't ever set out for a main goal. When I see some people's cool feats, I feel envious. Anybody else feel like this sometimes?
I understand how you feel, it's especially sad since I only play multi-player..... I guess I'm too lazy/depressed/impatient to do anything in minecraft
OT: I've made maybe one building that is even worth mentioning. I've had the game since 1.0.

Weird, I tried replying to hallediaz. Guess I didn't quote properly. This is my first time using this site.
I was wondering if you were damning her face or her 12 hour building spree.

This one server I like being on, the only thing I've done is make an aesthetic village, (It goes from two to a capacity of roughly fifteen villagers but takes a lot of stone,) and an accompanying marketplace to kidnap them to, (the villagers are moved far enough that they aren't registered in the village census,) and I'm still debugging the new transport mechanism. (I make a private portal in the nether that exits at spawn, but the original spawn portal keeps linking to to new nether-side portal instead of the old nether hub portal.)
That, and made a public chicken machine at spawn... I had been raiding other peoples' bigger machines, but it seemed silly to build a personal one. I farm just about everything else except sheep in the most inefficient way possible on my private area, but I am starting to learn about the difference between private world easy mode and server hard mode.
My house looks nice, but it is small, and again it is for easy mode.
I am a little proud of my creative world... though a lot of it is variations or scaled-down versions of already-posted mechanisms.... There is one mechanism that I have not seen, except I copied it from an older world from when I was trying to understand redstone.
I've been playing since late 2011, and I've never:
Built a mob grinder.
Built an automated farm.
Made ANYTHING that contributed to the community (Mods, texture packs, maps, etc)
Beaten the Enderdragon without some sort of cheat.

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
I understand how you feel, it's especially sad since I only play multi-player..... I guess I'm too lazy/depressed/impatient to do anything in minecraft
Weird thing is, I rarely play multiplayer. That's a contributing factor to the feeling-like-lameness for me.
Yea, but we think minecraft is much more. Which is due to the survival feeling you get. That can be endless if you find out how to make it endless. I haven't, but I am searching. It actually fills that crave you have for survival, plus with the goals, it may seem boring but after a while that will be broken. If you want inspiration, watch paulsoaresjr's minecraft videos. He is the reason I play minecraft, without quitting that is.
Make sure that the nether portal is at least 128 blocks away from the other one (in the nether).
Then it wouldn't work the way I want. I'm going to have to check why the spawn=hub connection is that fragile, but I'm not in the mood for mathing tonight. The idiot who tried to build an iron farm 40 blocks away from my village also has a gate that naturally links to the hub... I might just have to abandon my base because that's where the villagers are coming ATM.
Hmm, I made a map once (you can find it on my profile!) and I built a blocky stadium for a server once, it took longer than it should of but it worked and people had a blast, but I don't really feel that way OP because to each his own.
I've been playing minecraft for over 3 years, I've definately accomplished my fair share. I have missed out on a lot of updates, that I just never got around to experiencing. The oldest update I can think of that I haven't experienced to this day would be when minecraft 1.0 came out. I've never stepped foot into the end, nor have I ever thrown an ender pearl. I find the updates i've missed out of pure laziness overwhelming.

I'm actually
doing so
little, that I
actually feel
like quitting
Minecraft.
Muahahaha.
I feel you, brutha.
I don't have the patience for something that takes 5+ minutes.

Daaaaammmmmn. xD
What was that expletive referring to?

That she only made a dirt house in twelve hours! I should've been more specific with the quote.

I didn't even realize until now what else it could've been applied to!

I like your style of thinking. I guess you're right. For some reason I feel this way, however.

Don't think I've ever heard of him. I'll check him out.
I don't really follow Minecraft on YouTube that much, so that's why.

Sweet. What was the stadium for?
