I was in a cave, mining like normal minecrafters, when suddenly, *BOOM!* I died by a creeper who snuck up on me and lost my 34 diamonds, 54 iron, 44 gold, and more than 64 red stone I was actually gonna use cause I never use it! I was sooo mad that I went back into a random cave and hit a creeper with my fist.

So this was back at an old update and i was finished with the my house and i was going mining like all the other minecrafters and I had diamond armor and a diamond sward and pick... i didn't know it but i was mining under lava and it fell on me and i died and lost everything.
I haven't ever heard a story that tops this one. My first experience with Hardcore mode was going great. Hardcore just came out and I had been playing this map for a good 3 days, all day. I had gotten to the point I had full diamond armor and tools and set off into the nether. I found a nether fortress and started fighting blazes and got my ass kicked, but not directly by them. I retreated back to another hallway out of their vision and let the fire burn off and had literally 1 heart left at this point. Still in a panic I went to go eat and replenish my health, but in my rush I accidentally used an ender pearl, which ended up flying a good 5 blocks to another wall and finishing off the last heart I had. I didn't play Hardcore for 2 years after this
All my in game experiences have been positive - even the derpiest moments teach me stuff - don't play when you're half asleep/drunk or not concentrating fully.
The worst moments have and always will come when playing with other people. There's something prickly and annoying when a server admin decides for what ever reason they don't like you, or the clique that exists on the server decides they don't want anyone new upsetting the balance.
Fair enough of course, admins can decide the rules they enforce and how they go about it. No one will be liked by everyone of course, and sometimes we can all have a bad day, or just think we're being funny and not gauge the audience properly.
It's best when this happens during the first five minutes instead of wasting time existing in their world taking up bandwidth and blocks.
heck ya dont get drunk XD

First time I played Minecraft (full version) I went on my favorite server to play Minecraft (because I liked to play classic multiplayer, they had a server for full version) and I was having the time of my life building a small cobblestone house, mining, finding someone's loot in an extremely deep and wide mine (I was going to return it, but no one came back to get it, and the lost a couple of diamonds and food) until a group of people came into my house, destroyed it, and looted me. Luckily I found more loot in the mine (same stuff!) and rebuilt the house, and guess what? Those guys came back in and did the same exact thing. I found more loot in that mine (again, same stuff) and someone said to make a diamond pick and put obsidian onto my chest to protect it, but those guys were too smart for that. Luckily, one of the guys slowly killed himself to give my items back, but then an admin ran to the items, grabbed them, and was never seen again. That's when I was more interested into singleplayer.
Spent 4 or 5 weeks with 4 hours+ a day to build a giant starcraft city with me and about 15 other people and had fully furnished apartments cars and even a lifesize (100X500 blocks) floating replica of a starcraft 2 battlecruiser shooting a yamato cannon while being attacked by a protoss void ray into a building on this server and right as we finished it some...unplesent mod (insert long string of obcenitys which would get me perma banned here) who was after banned by the server owner, decide to have some "fun" and go on a TNT rampage after deleteing all the backups and ended up destorying my and about 60 other peoples citys.
Stopped playing for about 4 months because i was so ed >.< not a fun experince
Release 1.1 when half of my town was suddenly covered in snow.
And back when max enchants were level 50. I was level 46 mining out the End Portal room and hit a silverfish block. Smacked it and another one popped out of the wall which sent lava spilling towards me. Put water down to put out the lava, but ended up getting pushed back by the water and landed in the lava. The silverfish finished me off. Lost diamond tools, a ton of obsidian, and my 46 levels!
Probably when I got lost in the nether and got killed by ghasts. This was in the XBOX nether, which for those that do not know, is 80% lava and 20% land, not the other way around. Thus its basically a bunch of little islands and very hard to navigate. I lost a bunch of valuables.
I have pretty good minecraft luck lately, but I have been getting lost A LOT. Guess its new seed syndrome. Also I saw a spider jockey the other day along with a skele and zombie. Totally scared the crap outta me but I managed to kill them all with half a bar of hearts remaining. Yay for spam clicking!

A long time ago I found a kind of small survival server, but it was almost completely vanilla. A couple other people and I made our house near spawn. Spawn was a giant bedrock thing with a couple fountains in it, some glowstone, diamond blocks, that kind of bad spawn.
We were doing well until some guy comes on and tries to kill us. He had nothing, so we just obliterated him. He goes away for a bit and comes back with full diamond armor and a diamond sword. (It's obvious he's a hacker) He kills everyone who wasn't assigned to protecting the house. The only people who were protecting the house were me and another kid. We kept hitting him and hitting him and he just wouldn't go down. Eventually he killed us. Everyone else had quit so it was only me and the other house protector left.
Our house was burned down at that point and the hacker dude had built up an army of other hackers with full diamond gear. We couldn't even leave spawn because that was the only place that was protected. The kid tries to convince me that the owner is the cousin. Then I just quit.
