I was introduced to Minecraft in Alpha, It wasn't too much then.. but back then it was still the bomb! I always used Minecraft as a creative outlet in life, but when survival was released... I was so excited and it just got better and better.
Digging a small hole into the side of a mountain, seeing render glitches and looking in awe at how deep the world was. I barely knew anything about the game when I joined back in 1.2.5.

I started my first world on creative superflat. Peaceful, of course. I had played a little PE, so I knew basically what to do. Learning how to move was a pain though. I kept screming "Why aren't the arrow keys making me move?!?!?" but then while pounding the keyboard i discovered the WSAD keys. I began to look at the "new" items, such as TNT, rails, glowstone, obsidian...etc. After discovering spawn eggs I decided to build myself a little pig farm. To make sure they spawned, I turned to easy mode. I didn't notice the slimes at first...
I had fenced a large group of pigs. That's when I noticed the slimes. I beleived them to be passive, so I wasn't worrying about them. As I was putting the finishing touches on my farm, I noticed there were slimes inside. I had realised I hadn't put a few spots in. I proceded to kill the slimes, and rebuild my fence. After that, I deciced to change the gamemode to survival. I had watched a few minecraft videos beforehand. As I was watching my pigs, I had begun to take damage. I swung around to see a large slime attack me. I ran away to protect myself. In fear for my pigs, i switched to creative and made a one block wide lava moat around my pig farm. I then preceded to take care of my pigs. After a few minutes I discovered to my utter horror the lava had burned my fences down. The slimes then proceded to jump over the lava and populate my pig farm. I burst into tears, and deleted the world.
I still feel shaky whenever I see a slime-on a video. If I see one in my game-even two years later-I will run away as fast as I can. That's what a first experience can do to your entire minecraft experience. BE WARNED!

I was born blind, but I've never had a problem seeing. I see through my bending.
People see me and think I'm weak. But I can take care of myself, by myself.
The classic beta 1.3 experiance, I went out exploreing, it got dark and I died to a creeper. Respawn , dig a hole in the side of a hill and wait it out becouse it was as dark as fear outside. Sunrises and I go exploring more, sun sets, dig a hole and eat a sanwich in RL. Find a great spot to settle and then I build on the surface during the day and mine by night.
I dug tunnels under the ground to get from A to B at night. Back then night time was really night time, people died. The game kept me up for two days straight, no drugs including caffeine, just amazed at the simple yet versatile world notch made. Often after discovering things like making glass and rails I would just think to myself, "damn, not only do the Swiss make a fine watch but a sweet game!, Genius!"

“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” - Confucius
My first experience in MInecraft was back in 1.2.5.
I spawned in a forest and started gathering wood and punching mobs whilst doing so. Night fell and me, being the complete noob I was, continued to play on peaceful. I made a decent two story wooden and cobblestone house with a good sized chicken and sheep farm and a gigantic wheat farm. Once I had a full set of iron armor and a good amount of iron tools, I switched it to peaceful. I remember being so thrilled to be able to use my food for once and to kill off mobs. Once night fell, I ran around and started killing mobs. At one point, I was being attacked by a horde of zombies and a skeleton. When I was half a heart, I was like, "Forget it!" and I switched it back to peaceful.
I was just running around, punching wood, hitting animals, knowing nothing about how to craft, not even that you can right click on stuff! Then it got darker. I thought the time goes awfully fast when i was chased by a Zombie. AAAAAAARHH! Then i lagged like crazy and I was killed when i tried to make a house out of leaves. That right, leaves.

When I first played Minecraft, I didn't know how to craft tools and armor. I didn't know how to eat back then. I was only smart enough to make a Crafting Table.

Great story, but this part stood out to me for some reason.. those items were around long before spawn eggs were available in creative mode.. rails, TNT, and obsidian were all available before Minecraft even had an option to go between survival and creative mode without needing mods. So at the same time you were discovering spawn eggs you also happened to be playing with these "new" items that had been around months before..
Mine was punching wood, hitting E. Not knowing what to do. Then dropped playing minecraft. Then started again once my friends got it!
You can just call me Canary.

The first time I played, I immediately dug into the side of a mountain trying to find diamonds, and build a really crappy cobblestone house.
It's crazy looking back
