Uh... I find it hard to believe there are 10 year olds in the 21st century that don't know a PC is... I knew what a PC was when I was 6, and so did all my friends.
(Im talking 1st world kids)
I didn't know the term personal computer till like last year....
Well then mention that in your original post. What do you think we are, mindreaders?
And, again, why does it matter? Do you call yourself a pro player? What makes you a pro player then?
1. If you use context, you probably would have found out that is what I have been saying.
2. I do not call myself a pro player, I call myself a fan.
A pro player is someone who cherishes anyone who plays the game better than them, like a Youtuber or something. They are a complete try-hard in little mini-games, and usually, they rage whenever they die or lose. Keep in mind they have no knowledge of the game itself and have no fanship for it (posters in their room, accounts on forums, going to conventions for the game).
A fan is someone who likes the game, and doesn't get flustered while playing the game, they just keep on playing, no matter what happens. They watch Youtubers, usually, but they are probably just playing the game. They have posters in their room and have an account on at least one forum. They want to go to the conventions, and usually, they do go.
When I was a kid, we didn't even have PCs yet. The only real gamers were playing on their Nintendos. Then came the PC generation, but I think the PC's prime has passed. Now we are in the age of the cell phone and tablet, so don't expect kids to go out and buy a computer these days when they're perfectly happy playing games on their tiny screens that fit in their pockets.
No.
I mean't by the kids CALLING THEMSELVES A LEGIT MINECRAFTER,
watching MC Youtube videos,
and bragging about it to their little ten year old friends, saying that they are pros.
And, BTW Everyone,my post was about the KIDS that play MCPE CALLING THEMSELVES PROS AT MINECRAFT, AND TELLING EVERYONE THEY ARE.
They could be pros at PE. I definitely am.This isn't a problem to anyone. When my mom's friends families come visit I show their children the PE of minecraft. Not PC. PE. Now gasp.
They ARE playing Minecraft. Just because it isn't PC doesn't make it fake. Is Xbox not legit too? What made PC the only real version. Me thinks this post is a bit messed up.
ITT: An elitist who doesn't use proper verb tense derides a 10 year old family member who is a year younger than he is for not playing the 'correct' version of Minecraft.
Wrong. Errors corrected in red.
This topic is bad. I got Minecraft Pocket Edition and played it for months before I got the desktop version... There's nothing wrong with that. The PC version is much better, though.
1. If you use context, you probably would have found out that is what I have been saying.
2. I do not call myself a pro player, I call myself a fan.

Bro, you obviously need to learn about context yourself. Context means you can look at the sentences/words around a sentence/phrase/word and figure out the meaning, you gave no context clues about any of that. So please learn the definitions of words before you use them to support your stupid and fallacious arguments like that.
And secondly, a pro (professional) gamer is somebody who can make a living off of playing only video games. So examples of pro Minecrafters would be Youtubers who make the majority of their living off of Minecraft (the Mindcrackers, Sky, etc.), so your definition is completely wrong anyways. And so what if they brag to their friends? What does it matter to you? Your profile says you are 14, so why do you care what 10 year olds say/do?
And you don't have to have posters or go to Minecon to be a fan. A fan is somebody who likes something, period. So if they like Minecraft, even if they only play the PE, they are a fan. If you like Minecraft, you are a fan. I like Minecraft, I am a fan. I hate how gaming communities now-a-days try to devalue people for not being "true" fans of a game. There is no such thing as a true fan, only a person with a rod lodged in their anus that refuses to dismount their high-horse.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
I like all the people here being against it just because it's common sense. I'm pretty sure most of the people who posted here can't deny being at least a little annoyed by 7-11 year old kids stating they know how to play Minecraft. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, though.
I actually am not annoyed by that. I would be glad that those 7-11 year olds are enjoying Minecraft rather than playing something along the lines of CoD or GTA.
1. If you use context, you probably would have found out that is what I have been saying.
Given that there are three pages of posts from people who did not understand what you were saying, I'd venture to guess that the problem is in the transmission, not in the reception.
A pro player is someone who cherishes anyone who plays the game better than them, like a Youtuber or something. Keep in mind they have no knowledge of the game itself and have no fanship for it (posters in their room, accounts on forums, going to conventions for the game).
That's an interesting definition of pro players. I'm pretty sure the Pro Gaming Tour guys, among others, would probably take issue with you on that. Especially the part about them having no knowledge of the games they play.
Y'know, I don't have any Minecraft posters in my house, and I don't go to Minecraft conventions. I hope you're not going to consider me one of those not-as-good-as-you players. Further, as forum moderator, I can tell you for a fact that there are some people with forum accounts who I'm surprised can tie their shoes, and as a person who walks around with a creeper pin on my hat and talks to random strangers who play Minecraft (most recently, a waiter at a restaurant) there are a whole lot of Minecraft players out there who don't have accounts on this, or any other, forum. So having a forum account means exactly jack.
Well, if you'd stopped after that first comma, you would have been right.
A fan is someone who likes the game. Period. That's all. It's not about how they play, or whether they have wall space to put posters on, or whether they can afford to go to Minecon, or even whether they have forum accounts. (and what does that make me? No posters ... no conventions ... but I'm a moderator on this forum, so does that count extra?) Fan comes from "fanatic" so it's arguably someone who likes the game too much. And, y'know, pro gamers can also be fans of the game they play, as can people who have never played it at all. It's got nothing to do with skill.
I'd like to see you come down here and tell a Clemson fan he's not a real fan because he doesn't actually go to the games, never played football, and probably didn't even graduate from Clemson. (if even 1/10 of the people who call themselves Clemson or Dawgs or Gamecocks fans tried to go to "their" team's games, the stadiums wouldn't hold them). Really, I'd love to see how that works out. I promise, I'll call the cops and/or paramedics (depending on how much alcohol said fan has consumed) after he's had his chance to respond. Fans take their football seriously around here.
If a kid (and to me, that includes the OP at his ripe old age of 14 as well as the 10-year-olds he's deriding) wants to say he's good at Minecraft, great! More power to him. There is no age limit to Minecraft. And that is a good thing.
If he's got maturity issues, that has nothing to do with his Minecraft playing, People can be immature jerks about anything and everything, and their calendar age doesn't always relate. Back when I played WoW, the best 'lock in my old guild's raid group was 12 years old. (had to quit early on school nights, though -- his dad was our RL) And the worst bawl-baby in that guild was in his 30's; his son was in the guild with him.
Stop crying about how other people play, what they say about their playing, how old they are, etc. Remember one thing: for everything you can say about them, there's some "bigger fan" who can say the same about you. Just play the game the way you like, and let other people play the game the way they like. If they're full of nothing but hot air, they'll make it apparent to everyone around them without any help from you, and then you'll look like the wise, tolerant, mature one.

I see what you are trying to say...but pocket edition is a legit version of mine craft. Granted I wouldn't, count a demo as "getting" the game. But still...
Okay. This thread is getting VERY out of hand.
I don't know if any of you know what I am saying.
I am saying, he is starting to get into things only a PC player of Minecraft would be getting into.
My cousin has no intention of getting the PC edition, though I will get him a gift code Christmas, most likely (Because I am just a cool cousin).
And not just my cousin, actually, I think he gets this from the kids at his school, and I'll bet you $50 none of them know what the PC version of Minecraft is either.
I like PE, (not as much as PC, though) but it shouldn't be a main port of Minecraft. Xbox, is acceptable... it's are only a few updates behind PC, which is good. PC was here first, it should be a main port of Minecraft. When he gets PC, He is probably going to completely abandon PE, and that's good.
Any posters who are saying that they doubt that my cousin knows what a PC is, you are all wrong.
He knows what a PC is. I am talking about the PC version of Minecraft.
Any posters who are saying that this post sucks. You are right.
Now, if we can all go on with our lives, instead of burning me down because of my own opinion, that would be awesome, but none of you can let up, can you?
If any moderators or admins can please lock this thread, that would be great. And BTW, can anyone learn to respect someones opinion?

We aren't attacking your post because it is your opinion, we are attacking it because it is ignorant and elitist. And those are the two things I personally hate the most in someone on the internet.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.
My nephews of 10 and 7 say they play the game as well. They have the PE demo as well, and play cracked on a laptop without a mouse. They don't understand half of the game, they are absolutely terrible at building, they won't last a night and finding diamonds in Survival is something like a myth to them.
But they are having a shedload of fun with it. They tell stories about their awesome adventures and cool stuff they built. They enjoy seeing screenshots of my work. To me, that makes them legit Minecraft players, regardless of what anybody else says.
Also, I foresee a giftcode under their X-mas tree to make them actually legit players
True...That...

Negative. This thread is not elitist at all, it is just me trying to get a point through.
If anything, I consider myself a beginner at MC.
You may not be being elitist on skill, but you are being elitist on platform. You are talking about how only PC Minecraft is the "true" Minecraft. And you berated your cousin for liking the PE Minecraft. That is elitism, my good fellow.

so whats wrong with being a platform elitist every body is and if you say your not you a liar every one has there favorite platform and they have there least favorite so what why keep trolling this one forum post for that reason?

There is a difference between having a favorite platform and berating a 10 year old for not playing a game on what he considers to be the "right" platform for the game. The first is a matter of opinion, the second is a matter of ignorance.

I think by "context" he means "backpeddling faster than a hipster rolling backwards down Mulholland."
