Okay, so, I was over my cousin's house, keep in mind he is 10, and he recently got one of those iPod's. He wanted to show me something on his iPod so I just watched. "I got Minecraft!" he said. He then launched the DEMO VERSION OF POCKET EDITION. I asked him "Do you know there is other versions, like PC?" He then replied, "What is PC?"
So, My point is, that kids are ONLY playing Pocket Edition and calling themselves "legit Minecrafters". Has anyone else noticed this? And if you have, isn't it getting really REALLY annoying?
EDIT: The point of this post, is for people to realize the amount of kids that play ONLY the Pocket Edition of the game, and only have intentions for playing the Pocket Edition, calling themselves, the "all-knowing Minecrafter" to their friends, and then, soon THOSE kids will only play Pocket Edition and the friends of THOSE friends, are going to do that as well.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best."

Uh... I find it hard to believe there are 10 year olds in the 21st century that don't know a PC is... I knew what a PC was when I was 6, and so did all my friends.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

This. I knew what a PC was and could use one fluently when I was 3-4.

The problem with the truth, is that it never lies.

I've known how to use a PC and knew about it since I was 3.It was 1985 back then.
I'm not sure what about this you're so bothered by. He just doesn't know any better, from what it sounds like to me. And even so, Minecraft is a game that people can play however they want.. I personally feel like people who only play in Creative mode at missing out on the real fun in the game, and I'm opposed to servers with plugins that give you an advantage in the game like Mcmmo and Essentials and things like that; but in reality that's just my own personal preference.
In short, instead of getting offended for.. some reason I'm not quite seeing, enlighten him and show him the PC version and introduce him to the wide world of the actual game. Then let him go from there. You never know, he might end up a more imaginative and adventurous Minecrafter than yourself.
So, My point is, that kids are ONLY playing Pocket Edition and calling themselves "legit Minecrafters".
Of course they are. The Pocket Edition is Minecraft, just like the XBox 360 edition is, and the Raspberry Pi edition. Sorry to break it to you, but in actual fact Mojang has not delegated to you the right to determine what is "real" Minecraft and what isn't. They do that themselves, by deciding which games they're going to slap the "Minecraft" label on. And they, the people who wrote the game, and therefore the people who should know, say that the Pocket Edition is Minecraft.
So kids playing the Pocket Edition are "legit Minecrafters". Deal with it.
And if you have, isn't it getting really REALLY annoying?
Nope.
You see, my sense of self-worth re: Minecraft comes from what I am able to accomplish in the game. It doesn't require other people's participation. In particular, it doesn't require that other people acknowledge that I'm playing a "better" version of the game than they are. Everyone else who plays Minecraft could be uber-leet Alpha players, or they could all be clueless MCPE Demo newbies who just started yesterday, and it wouldn't matter. It's not about them.
p.s. As for "What is PC?" I think he's referring to MC/PC, not PCs in general.
Have you ever noticed the amount of 10 year olds that say they play Minecraft?
I do.
Have you ever noticed what they are REALLY saying?
I do.

Just because your cousin plays pocket edition doesn't mean all of them do. My 10 and 13 year sisters have been playing Minecraft for over a year. Do you have a problem with young children playing a very educational game?
My nephews of 10 and 7 say they play the game as well. They have the PE demo as well, and play cracked on a laptop without a mouse. They don't understand half of the game, they are absolutely terrible at building, they won't last a night and finding diamonds in Survival is something like a myth to them.
But they are having a shedload of fun with it. They tell stories about their awesome adventures and cool stuff they built. They enjoy seeing screenshots of my work. To me, that makes them legit Minecraft players, regardless of what anybody else says.
Also, I foresee a giftcode under their X-mas tree to make them actually legit players
I didn't show my Sisters a thing besides how to walk and break blocks. I saw them a few weeks later with houses, dog houses, farms, and things I can't even do. I asked how they learned and they told me they just searched Minecraft on YouTube. Don't under estimate kids these days.

Some kids are that deprived. when I was 10, I didn't even have acess to the internet. though that was back in like 2008. But still. Some kids are deprived. And I actually agree with the OP, Pocket Edition demo, is so gimped it's not even funny. Xbox360 Is close, but who calls themselves a gamer if they have a 360? RasberryPI edition I would call legit minecraft, and PC edition. (why the PI? well, it's pretty much a PC that's the size of a credit card. Sure it can handle a whole lot, but still. it's a PC.)

I know a 12yo that doesn't know what a PC is. A computer on the other hand he knows what it is. I've explained to him a million times what a PC is but he just says "Why call it something that weird. It's a computer." >_<

don't click this link...
Also, how is the pocket addition demo that is published by Mojang be any less legitimate than the PC version?

I am curious as to who you consider to be a "mainstream youtuber" and why you use that phrase in a negative way.
