Just in case anyone gets the wrong Idea about this, I love both Jeb and notch. With this said I also think mine craft has kind of become a different game. I think it was very indeed different before then to now. Do you like these changes? Do you think the game hasn't changed much? Tell me down below!
Yes, Jeb has done a good job, but I wouldn't say he did the best job. Even though he cleaned the code that Notch made a mess in, I still believe that Notch always made the game in a far better aspect than Jeb, even though it was a resource hog.
Ya see, I don't really agree with the gameplay changes made with Minecraft after Jeb came into power, but I honestly love how he optimized the code. I'd say the only good thing Jeb has added in the past few updates and snapshots, really, were the Horses. It paved way for a whole new way of transportation (But seriously, improve Minecarts, make tracks easier to make), and added a better sense of a medieval feel to the game.
While Notch's ideas, (Everything behind 1.0, beta, alpha, all the way up to, and including 1.0) were amazingly great. Weapon systems are quite balanced, the hunger system added a far better sense of survival, Leather is far more useful (and useless, at the same time), Enchanting is heavily balanced, Potions aren't that bad of an Idea (needs improving, really), and, hell, the Ender Dragon was actually a nice boss if the dragon did more than just push you around.
In conclusion, Jebs and Notch both rule AND suck at being the lead designer/programmer. They should just join forces, really.

I pledge alliegance to the Great Alliance of the Medieval European Nations, with my sword, and my shield, to forever use my blade with great moral responsibilities, and to serve in all of my king's wars and protect the Great Kingdom.
Jeb has done a really great job at running Minecraft. Especially when he implemented horses and a health bar for horses and pigs! I was always pleased at the new features like pigmen spawning out of nether portals, new biomes, many tweaks to certain tools, weapons, and armor, and new mobs.
He implemented bats which are good for the halloween, firework stars and firework rockets for the festive night, and emeralds for trading. Many other great features followed, like stained clay which is useful for decoration and pixel art, horses that are controllable and finally implemented from Mo' Creatures, and haybales to create the Filipino's nipa hut.
So that means, Jeb has done a great job on the game, from all of the above.
Considering that Jeb has had to contend with a new boss, additional new directions and focuses (ie Win10), I think hes done a pretty good job. He's got a lot on his plate, but he seems to be handling it.
My only complaint is that they don't fix the bugs (come on, it's 6 years old now!) and that they keep adding stuff just for the sake of adding stuff instead of improving the things that they already have.
they did really great, it was after all what many people wants, right? in a way? pvp was overrated, they added pvp mechanics.. people feeling adventurous, they added more transportation.. people loved commandblock, they improved it.. most of the added stuffs are for and from the community themself, they are great listener (most of the time..) so in overall, i think they're trying to do good and kinda succeeded in that..
