Howdy all. I am away from my computer while traveling but am thinking wildly about how to make my base better. I currently have a 3 source block water moat around my base and love the protection it gives. Recently I have worked out a few perfect villagers and want to move them into my base so I can tear down the lag machine they were birthed from.
The problem? I know that every night my moat will be filled with zombies and last I checked they don't burn while swimming.
My mental solution! Iron golems. They don't drown and they are 3 blocks high. My question is if they will attack the zombies as they bob up and down in the water? Does anyone mind hopping in their test world to put my mind at ease?
Personally, when I upgraded from "keep them away" to "kill the little buggers," I took the water out and installed a system of lava that could be turned on or off by pistons. Hid them in my walls. Wish I could pic and share, but that was a couple servers ago.
You could lower the water level so that the iron golems can smack the zombies, or just remove water from the equasion. Lastly, you could replace water with lava and remove the golmes entirely.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
Yeah, just hook it up to a daylight sensor with a tflip-flop do deactive it when you don't want it on and your golden. Ps totally stealing this idea lol.
A Dayling sensor is a nice idea, but make sure it has a little delay, to ensure all night mobs in moat are dead. Or include a manual switch because, heck, flaming lava death.
