As of recently I started a Minecraft survival world, and I'm really liking the progress. However, to keep the story nice and short, I know that 1.7 is doomed to come soon, and I really want to start a new world with it, because of the new content/world generation. So, would you guys consider it cheating to transfer my items over to a new 1.7 world? Like, if someone asked me, could I say it was legitimate? I mean I did earn them in a survival world on hard difficulty, I got them for real the first time. Does transferring them to a new world void their legitimacy?
it's your game.. you play it how you want to. If you want to use the commands to get yourself back up to speed you can. the only player it will affect is you.

But what I'm looking for is opinions on what you think about it being legitimate. Could I tell someone that the world is completely legitimate even though I started with those items? Because I did earn them after all. Thanks for the feedback!
You could just role play it and say you were in other lands and traveled to this new land.. bringing a chest of supplies with you.
As for as legit.. it's as legit as you want it to be besides. Let's say you do use commands to give your self stuff in the new world. Who says you have to tell any one? You can tell them you mined it else where and brought it over to a new location. They'd never know.
I see no problem with it. Who cares if something is 100% totally legit anyways? It is a single player game. Do it if you don't mind having free stuff on a new world, or don't do it if you want the additional challenge.

Alright thanks guys! I'm probably just going to do it because I don't want my progress in this world going to waste, and I really want to play 1.7 just for the new features, not to have to do all the work to get my stuff back.
