The best moment was every moment i discovered something i had no idea about, like the mine cart. Literally went nuts when i found that. Spent hours trying to figure out the rails!
Way back in Alpha 1.2.6 (good god I'm old), I had first installed the game and was figuring out the ropes. After a while, I found a massive mountain that basically screamed "Make me a house!" So I did. I spent a good month or two on it, focusing on one part at a time, getting everything exactly right. When I was almost done, I decided to go outside and take a look at it. I nearly fell out of my chair; had I put that much time and effort into this thing? The entire mountain, which reached from sea level to near the maximum height, had been converted into a gorgeous castle that still flowed with the landscape, like a massive Fallingwater. At the time, I didn't know about the screenshot function, and I really wish I had some pictures, because I later (stupidly) played with a bunch of mods on that world and it became corrupted. I still have it somewhere, maybe I can restore it...
Me an about 4-5 IRL friends started up a private server. We began a community, and the one of our friends running the server installed plugins like essentials, and a market, economy, etc. We built, and spent close to a year on it. The world became corrupt when a new update came and some plugins messed it up. 6 months later, the server "admin" or the one of our friends hosting it, he managed to fix the world, and gave us all a copy of it. It was so amazing to see all of the work we did to it still there. I STILL HAVE THE WORLD!! (even though it was in early beta)
I was on my bestest friend EVAR's server, and I had this kick-a$$ tower. My friends all lived there with me, we had an underground base built into it with secret rooms, restaurants, a mooshroom farm, craploads of supplies, everything. We also had a gang on Minecraft called S.L.A.P, short for Super Lazy Awesome People. Ah, those were the days... Anyway, this one day, I got online and my house was absolutely FILLED with diamond ore. It was awesome. One of the admins did it to be nice (The server got griefed about a month after that though D: Everything was absolutely RUINED)
And there was this one time my friend "Bidred" and I raided this old supply room. It was blocked off from this one building and we looted it. We got in a bit of trouble after that But no one was using it anyway!!!
Lastly, I found an iron golem inside of an abandoned mob farm. It was the first time I ever saw one and I was FREAKING OUT. It gave me a rose :3 ...But I killed it D:
Now I love golems, they're my favorite mob.
Sorry, I'm done now. So many memories...

when i found my first emerald...
i found over 50 diamonds in total by the time i found 1 emerald ore.
those green dots on that stone...it was beautiful.
then i remembered that is was useless.
Getting my wife into minecraft, then hearing her scream when she met her first creeper and decided the BEST place to fight it was at her front door, so she could run back in to be safe.
I once killed two guys with iron/diamond armor and all I had was 1 or 2 pieces of leather armor. They were towering up and I saw my chance.
Also, not to brag, but I'm ridiculous with a bow. I once hit a guy off a tower (in one try), and i was also (and I'm not exaggerating) more than 50 blocks away. Maybe even more like 75.

days later
Discovered powered rails. *brain melted*
