This game is fine when playing on big servers with a lot of people... But when you play single player - it can really be STUPID! I mean, I wake up in the morning, go about my business, and then decide to craft some stuff... I start tinkering, and suddenly... BOOOM. Then again... BOOOOM !!!
I have just respawned at my destroyed home, went to check the damage, look sadly at my stuff all around the place... And there it is again ! BOOOOM!
That's where rage-quit takes place.
FFS, from where did they come ? They weren't out there last time I checked! I realised, they are respawning right at my back. 80% of time when I am working on my workbench. I don't know if it is MOJAG's way to troll or what... I play this game a long time, someone could say I am used to them, but they just keep suprising me with their twisted way of respawn right behind me... That's not "hard"... That's "troll" level of playing!
In my opinion, they REALLY shouldn't respawn at my back, and they REALLY need some creeping sound, to warn me about their presence. It would be nice if they would burn in sun, or at least make noises - in day time. I mean, it's broad day light - morning, and the place is cawling with - creepers! Day tends to be equally dangerous as night.
I know the Creepers are the main idea behind the game, but sometimes, they ruin single player survival gaming experinece, and they are - trolls, fun killers, and they often result in rage quit, cheating or something similar... They need to be TWEAKED a bit, not to SPAWN RIGHT BEHIND YOU WHILE YOU ARE DOING STUFF ON THE WORKBENCH!
I can respawn, it's not me who gets killed. It's my creations... Destroyed Stuff - obliterated...
Yes, I know they shouldn't respawn right behind me. And not in a day light. But somehow - they do... Too damn often. They probably decided to ignore MOJAG's code and got smart... I wouldn't be suprised if I find one behind my computer - in my bedroom...
Okay, whatever they're doing, they're not spawning right behind you.
They don't spawn within 25 squares of you.
They don't spawn in brightly-lit areas.
So if you're being crept up on by creepers, you're letting them spawn where they can get to you. Either you've got a hole in your house, or not enough torches somewhere, or whatever.
The only time I find myself face to face with a creeper is when I'm poking around in caves/mineshafts/etc. I don't go wandering around at night (though I do, when sufficiently bored, hang out in my sniper perches and pick off creepers with a bow). My house has plenty of lighting inside, and a fence at least six squares away outside, which keeps the creepers far enough away so they don't explode -- at which point, see above regarding sniping.
Look, I'm a total newbie. I've only been playing MC/PC for less than a month, MC/360 for about two months. And *I* don't have a problem with creepers. Once I find a few sheep and build myself a bed, they don't spawn outside of caves unless I want them to. Once I build my creeper crampers, I don't have to worry about whether they spawn or not; they have to worry about me. And for caves, well, that's what the iron armor is for. According to your forum registration, you've been playing for a year and a half. Don't tell me you can't learn in all that time how to do what I figured out in my first 24 hours.
Like my T-shirt says, creepers gonna creep. Haters gonna hate, creepers gonna creep, it's just how they are. I just make sure they can't creep up on me.
P.S. The company that makes Minecraft is called Mojang, not MOJAG.
And this is why I don't have any crafting tables outside where the bastards can creep up on me. Because of how quiet they are I want to be at full attention and mobility whenever near my structures from the outside, because even if you go to sleep you never really know if there are any survivors of the night lurking around.
...I realised, they are respawning right at my back...
Nope. Wrong. Lies.

Each individual spawn attempt succeeds only if all of the following conditions are met:
- There must be no players and no player spawn points within a 24 block distance (spherical) of the spawning block
Stop blaming the game itself for being so bad at it.
At its best it can make me feel uneasy and feel somewhat paranoid in the caves when in Hardcore mode. At its worst it shrouded my world. And it's usually at its worst. Good thing there's the "gamerule mobGriefing false" command.
