Here's how it goes:
Nowadays, when I see many videos of the same type in YouTube, I had this feeling:
"How am I going to get more views for my mod showcase?"
"What if no one watches my video at all?"
"Will anyone like my video and subscribe to me if they watched my video?"
Then, it lead to a conclusion in my head, competitions between videos in YouTube. It's not a real "competition" at all, but many people just want to become famous by getting more views in their videos and more subscribers. Generally, a lot of people do the same mod showcases for the exact same mod, and this is making me frustated as like I felt they stole my views.
One of my friends watched my latest video, and she told me that if I really need to boost myself, I have to learn from CaptainSparklez, and that's because he makes 1 video per day (well I'm not sure about her information). Seriously? He's too goddamn famous, and I'm a great big fan of him... I'm pressured because I don't really have much time to do as many videos like he can do, I only have 13 videos up to today (1st video was on 2 years ago).
Does anyone of you had the same feeling like I do? What would you do to increase your views and getting more subscribers? Feel free to share your tips on Minecraft video-making, and steps to motivate yourself and all of us.
[Note: I'm not forcing anyone of you to quit Minecraft video-making. Try not to get pressured like me now.]
For one thing you could start with a less overplayed game and then start making Minecraft videos after you have a decent base of viewers who want to watch them.
Note: When I refer "you" I mean YouTube commentators, as if I'm speaking directly to them.
Minecraft video channels are over-saturated right now. There's absolutely no way of making it big unless you just get plain lucky, plain and simple. Simply starting with Minecraft is getting you no where. Unless you annoy people by spamming forums, other videos, and whatnot which will make people dislike you from the start, Minecraft is not the video game to get into the scene with. As Frog says, other games to gain a base following then mixing in Minecraft with it, is probably your best bet, but you will still have to be innovative enough for people to actually want to watch you.
I agree with the above comments and yes now that there is hundreds upon hundreds of channels doing Minecraft LP's it is very hard to get known people like Ethoslab and others who were some of the first to start them, as well as there are so many Youtubers it seems like your channel will never get regonized, thats why if I ever started it would mostly be for fun, I was watching some big Youtubers who were talking about start an LP of a game nobody has really done and then once you gain a fan base move over to games you like, like MInecraft because even though people do these LP's like crazy if you get a fan base ready and Minecraft is an ever growing game more then likely people will watch it considering Mineceaft LP's are the new big thing on Youtube and have been for a little while.
But if you do start your channel up I wish you the best of luck with it
I find that the easiest thing to do is to do something different than everyone else out there.
When I started my channel, I knew I wasn't going to do let's plays like the other thousands of people.
I went and did things that no one else did, and here I am a year later with 60,000 views and over 200 subs
So yeah, just make it unique and you should be good
