door blocks (block 64) in your hands aren't useful
therefore they are totally useless and should not exist
ermergerd. Doors (block 64) is a block storing a data value making the door physics to work. You can not place block 36 hurp durrp dat comparsion, never said they shouldn't exist herr derrp doe
Lapis Lazuli is the most useless thing I have ever mined. I only use it to sell on servers with the shop plugin since it sells for a lot for some reason.
Adventure mode. What needs to be said? You can still break transparent blocks like glass, glowstone, and redstone, which are used very often in adventure maps. It might as well be survival.
Mining fatigue doesnt let you brake blocks anyway!
So i second this!
“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” - Confucius
I think that *checks minecraft* rotten flesh is the most useless item because it drains more than it gives, and on the 20% percent chance that it doesn't it doesn't give you hunger, it doesn't even give that much saturation anyhow. And it has no blocks, or crafting recipes whatsoever. Why can't zombies just drop feathers again? ;_; ;(
Does anyone PLAY minecraft anymore? All the awesome videos I see here and elsewhere looks like everyone is using Minecraft as a 3D Graphic app with virtual walk-arounds. People also seem to be creating skins, textures, or using something like MCEdit.
The biggest problem with this game is mining and purpose. Mining is so tedious. I played hard-core model many times, and calculated how much time was spent clicking on stone bricks. I understand starting that way, but there should be a mod that lets you create robots who will do the work for you. What about industry?
For now, I think Minecraft is becoming more of a creative tool for designers, less a game.

So are you saying that minecraft itself is the most useless thing in minecraft? also skins & texturepack are coded into the game, so it still is minecraft. While MCEdit is just a tool to acess some of the features of minecraft that you can't usually get (like getting custom spawners.)
But to finnish this off, minecraft is a game that has no plot, you have to create your own plot to your own story, you can end your story when ever you want, which is why minecraft is such a good game.

I agree, but rotten flesh is good, if you get a zombie grinder and have stacks of it, it actually works because when the poison gets rid of a hunger bar you just have to eat another.
Problem with eating another. The more you eat, the more you lose, so say, the creepers have already blown up your rotten flesh supply, and your running, its not efficient.
Copyrights for mods.
I'd say make so if anyone makes a Minecraft mod, they have to make their mod FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software). Meaning anyone can fork it and make their own.
That way, the real good modders/teams float to the top and that people get into it for the benefit of the end user, instead of incorporating killswitches into their mods that only harm the end-user.
Also, GRASS is useless. Only there for decoration and I usually wind up getting RedPower for that sickle to clearcut it all around my house and even around some of NPC villages.
This was stated earlier in the thread... Without Grass, there would be no seeds, no wheat, no cake, no Cow farming... Yeah. Grass is NOT useless.
I think the most useless thing in Minecraft is the Golden Hoe. A thing that breaks in thirty or so uses, and its only job is to till dirt. I only use Stone Hoes for my farming. No, really. It would be a waste of Iron.
The most useless in-game thing is definitely singleplayer/nocheats chatbox.
I mean, WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO!?
You can't input commands - no cheats.
What. The. Heck?
Is your minecraft skin actually Wilson?

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
