Normally I don't like killing or eating the pigs in minecraft. They're the one mob I have a bit of a soft spot for.
However, on the server I play on, there is a small chance that there will be a naturally occurring pig spawner in place of a normal zombie/skeleton/spider spawner in dungeons. This makes them different from loveable surface pigs. These pigs are evil* & must be killed!
Long story short, I built a cooked porkchop machine out of a pig spawner I found. I thought I'd show it off to you fine folks.
I put down narrow grass paths for the pigs to spawn on. I needed to use my silk touch pick to get the grass in place because pigs need grass (not dirt) to spawn.
Because the paths are so narrow, the pigs will knock eachother off & into the water below. To speed up the process, I can hold a carrot in my hand & they'll leap towards me. The water takes them to the BBQ.
They fall through a thin layer of lava held in place with a sign.
They burn to death on a hopper leading to a chest. Because they die by fire, they drop cooked porkchops.
I don't need to kill or cook a single pig manually. I think I'm more proud of this machine than anything else I've built so far in minecraft.
You are a genius, and good going. But even so, with the machine, combined with you description, I feel like throwing up. I wouldn't be able to use the machine.

I don't think I'd build a similar machine for natural surface pigs. As I said, I kind of feel bad killing/eating them normally. I have a "pet" pig on my base with a saddle & a very nice sty. Pigs from a monster spawner just seem different to me though. (I know it's just in my head, pigs are pigs)
But I don't think anyone's ever implied that I'm an evil genius before. I'm a bit conflicted, I don't know whether to stop using my machine or to start working on my malevolent laugh. *Mwahahahaha!*

Has anyone else ever built something like this?
*Not hostile, just evil.

Something Something
The water that they fall into flows into a hole where they drop through a block of lava on their way to the hopper.

O a side note, what server has the chance to spawn pig spawners? That's so epic.
