In my opinion, Minecraft today is kind of boring. The new world generation gets repetitive. The old Generation was full of variety and every world was unique. I used to love setting up in mountainous regions because they were so cool and you never knew what was around the corner. But now they all look the same, no matter what seed you use. The same goes for all other biomes. I miss the old sounds of cows, water, digging, and walking. Minecraft Beta 1.3 was my favorite patch, and beta 1.2 isn't far off. Ever since beta 1.8, Minecraft has gone downhill. Don't get me wrong, Minecraft is an amazing game, but I don't get that feeling I used to get while playing....

Same as I always have before. I dont play the game like mad crazy. Every now and then, I will go collect some mods and make a goal to complete in a world. Then other times I would go find a custom map to complete. So many people talk about the beta or alpha of Minecraft but in reality all they are doing is saying "I wanna look cool and im desperate about it". Who cares. Stop living in the past or you are destined to miss the future.
That's... not true. I've been playing from 1.2 and it's been going uphill ever since then. The generation needs work, but doesn't ruin everything. Back then, redstone was primitive, and it's gotten better and better.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

There are too many of these "nostalgia hipster" threads. I wouldn't blame the updates, if you've been playing the game for years then you know the drill, of course it's getting boring now.
In my opinion, every update they do, it gets better. Sure there are some things I don't like in the update, but I try to avoid using them. Most of Mojang things adds are optional and not compulsory.

Well, the change I dislike the most was the crafting recipe change for books, and that's not optional. But I'd like to add that the 1.6 snapshot is awesome! I get to load language packs more easily now.

Ik that was a quote... from who though?
OT: I liked the old terrain, but all in all the old terrain never had jungles and all these biomes we have now.

It a true quote by John F. Kennedy. He has alot of great quotes.
I started playing in 1.7.3 and took a break to return in...1.1, I think. But anyways, I can honestly say, I miss only one thing: The greener grass. I love all the biomes, but the Extreme Hill Zone grass is an odd greyish purple. I used to miss the difficulty, but the recent skeleton and zombie buffs did the trick. That with hardcore is, in my opinion, harder than Beta/Alpha ever were.
I'm having fun, I just built a forward operations base in a taken over and renovated (to prevent spawning) part of a large Nether fortress connected via underground powered rail tunnel to my portal blockhouse. I completed and tested an automated blaze spawner xp farm based on EthosLab's design, and tomorrow I will begin work on a wither skeleton darkroom spawner xp farm.

I think it was one year, not two.
