This is my guide on how to make a mountain. I decided this was useful when my superflat map turned into more then just messing around, now i need mountains.
Step 1: Built a skeleton
Step 2: Once done start adding side hills, using the same pattern.
Step 3: Start molding the edges to look random as possible
Step 4: Plant trees
Step 5: use bone meal to grow the trees, and use it on the ground to add grass and flowers.
I agree, that looks more like a hill than a mountain. A mountain would be much taller and have stone, and also be far wider. I honestly would consider this far, far too time consuming, and would rather just generate a regular world in order to use mountains, that or mods.
Minecraft was made to expand people's imaginations. Building a mountain, isn't using your imagination. Building a candy mountain is...
Unless you add some random awesome stuff like the Niagra Falls with the Statue of Liberty together in that spot with the Crystalline Caverns inside the falls.
I think we all missed the point. The point is that i'm awesome and can build hills, just playin. I don't like mods, they (can be) complicated to install and difficult to keep up with on every update. I'd rather play the game the way it is and enjoy myself. Plus i feel like building with a mod takes the human aspect out of your world.

And now you have a mountain! Have fun!
