Theory of the enderdragon:
The enderdragon is a severely mutated originator warbeast, with extremely high amounts of machinery implanted into it. This can be observed by the dragon's death animation, which I believe is the dragon's power system (possibly related to enderpearls) taking too much damage and exploding. It is believed that the originators (corrupted, now known as endermen or wither skeletons when in the nether.) worship this creation and before they were corrupted, installed crystal like machines on top of tall towers. These machines work by firing a beam of nanoparticles containing a small amount of nanobots that scuttle around the dragon's body, healing wounds and repairing bones. After the beam is severed, the nanobots lose their control signal and die.
Again, great job there.

It is a known fact to many Minecraftian blacksmiths that one standard sized piece of coal will burn for approximately 80 seconds, which is enough to smelt 8 standard sized items. But recently, scientists have discovered that by condensing 9 standard sized pieces of coal into one block that the smelting efficiency of the coal goes up by a factor of 11%, in which the block smelts 80 standard sized items, where as 9 separate standard sized pieces of coal would only smelt 72 standard sized items.
This technique has been adopted by many blacksmiths ever since the production of these blocks became easy to do in a standard crafting table...but why do these blocks behave in this way? The most reasonable explanation is that because the coal is much more dense, the atoms (or whatever particles the Minecraft universe is composed of) that become separated when the substance is set aflame don't have as much room to do so, and release extra energy as they rub against other particles, creating friction (I'm actually not sure if "friction" between particles is even a thing IRL, but, of course, this isn't real life, so we can assume that particles in Minecraft may behave differently), and extra energy means more items can be smelted. The same effect has yet to be achieved with charcoal, as charcoal is not such a refined substance as coal, and therefore is not as easy to produce into a condensed form.
Ah, it feels good to write a theory again after so long.
At first glance, nether quartz appears to be a hard, pearly-white substance. However, Nether quartz appears to be a conductor of redstone energy. This is because it's crystalline structure, repeatedly fused and melted by lava, is extremely orderly. There are 3 main "energy conduits on a standard piece of nether quartz (The areas where power flows the fastest.) Nether quartz rotates toward strong sources of energy ("Comparator") and also seems to react to sunlight. ("Daylight Sensor".) Further research will prove to find out if the quartz reacts to the sunlight particles, or the stronger gravitational pull of the sun.

After further thought, I have concluded that the effects of the condensed coal blocks are not caused by "particle friction", but rather more simply by the fact that they just burn more efficiently: particles being closer together means that when they release energy when set aflame, there is a higher chance that they will pass on thermal energy to particles nearby, making them release their energy, therefore more potential energy is turned into kinetic energy than in a less dense substance.
hold your horses! Okay, I like how you put that in theory form, how about this, put in one theory of it's make-up, then another one describing (emphasis on describing) how you make the redstone recipes. And we'll see which of those get put in.
hold it! Minecraft science! Not real world. I'm sorry people, but you guys are trying to make minecraft science work. It isn't supposed to by real logic, only by minecraft logic. Where trees bloom and everything is evolved from pigs.
looks pretty cool. Put it into theory form with a name.
Once again- LOGIC ALERT!
Not real world logic, use Minecraft logic.
stop! Okay, I'm going to add a new rule: Notch and Herobrine are going to be left out of this, Steves are a species, not a person.
Hold on, Wither people are a no-no. They don't make sense, There is nothing left, and how would they have survived? The Wither people were not well thought out. And as I have already stated, endermen were around long before the others.
You didn't read the opening post. I got to testificates and stopped. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!
No wither people. Maybe if Mojang adds Wither people to the game. We already know wither skeletons are corrupted skeletons. Pay attention.
OKay, update! Oh, no more contributors section, I just can't keep this thread going with that in here.
Sweet! Thanks dude! It's up there. I am indebted to you sir!
Okay, revoke that Kyte, I'm just cutting down the size so I can handle it.
Gah! I give up!
THEORIES man. THEORIES! Not FACTS. THEORIES!
If you can come up with an experiment to prove a "point" that would be awesome. But not stuff about the workings of the actual game. This is all for fun.
Lolz! XD That is awesome. Tell them that those were some of the funniest things I've seen in a while. Thanks!
Thanks all of you for contributing. I'll try to come here as often as possible (except for Sundays)
I just want to say something. People can posit theories that disregard or disagree with existing theories. Thats what they are after all: Theories.

This is my theory about Minecraft's Moon: The moon orbits outside of Minecraftia, but at L2, a point in space where the moon orbits in the same time as Minecraftia. Therefore, as Minecraft rotates and orbits, the moon and sun are always at 180 degrees angle. I couldn't put the photo in. Sorry.
On the substance know as "Nether Quartz"At first glance, nether quartz appears to be a hard, pearly-white substance.
Easier explanation: Nether quartz's crystal structure makes it act as a semiconductor in 3 areas. It emits a signal when the ultraviolet light of the sun hits it. This light is stopped by opaque blocks. Voila.
In reply to "Basic Theory of Evolution" and "Advanced Theory of Evolution":
Also in "Advanced Theory of Evolution" you said that "The testificates evolved from pigs." I believe that testificates actually evolved from the creature that was created when a pig crossed with a squid, rather than just from pigs. This is due to the testificates pig-like features (their skin color and texture), their squid-like features (their "squidward" nose and facial features), as well as the two animal's main feature combined (their overall derpiness).
How can squid cross with pigs? One's on water, the other lives on land.
After reading up on orbital mechanics, I have determined the moon must be in a heliosynchronous orbit. http://imgur.com/cqxsRJb
This orbit allows a satellite, including a natural one like the moon, to face a certain illumination angle at all times. In the moon's case, this angle would be 180 degrees, that is, the sun is always 180 degrees from it given an angle on the sun.
This explanation makes more sense than unseen forces, which must impart momentum change without actually imparting momentum change.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

The Unified Theory of Minecraftian Biology:
The "Steve" (Homo Fabricius) is a bipedal sentient creature that resembles a human (Homo Sapiens)
The Steve is best known for it's incredible strength, capable of lifting thousands of tons of solid gold.
The Steve's biology hints at large amounts of augmentic enhancement in the past. The most pronounced augmentation is the Steve's exoskeleton and reinforced bones. When a Steve's corpse was dissected, tiny nano machines were present in the blood and bone marrow.
These nano machines give the Steve incredible regenerative abilities. A Steve's body is able to refine food directly into fuel at 100% efficiency.
This fuel is used to power a Steve's enhancements. This can be observed when a Steve is starved in laboratory conditions. After eating 5 steaks, a Steve was shot in the torso twice. The nano machines in the Steve's blood repaired all damage to the body in approximately one minute. After the Steve ran on a treadmill for one (1) hour and was shot twice, the Steve lost it's regenerative abilities.

I usually have a neutral/undecided standpoint on things. And yes, I am part Swiss.
On the nether and creatures therein:
(I make metric f***tons of references to the Originators here)
Netherakk:
Netherakk is a dark red stone with a very high concentration of rusted iron incorporated into it's structures. First documented in 112 AA, Netherakk has potentially anomalous properties when burned. This is caused by the heat from the fire exciting the atoms of iron contained within the Netherakk and becoming molten. Because of other substances in the netherakk (gold and silicon) these iron atoms are almost instantaneously restabilised.
Netherbrick:
Netherbrick is a darker red substance made out of vitrified Netherakk. When temperatures get high enough for silicon atoms in Netherakk to become glass, the entire rock is affected. The iron contained within loses it's high-energy restabilisation mechanism, and the gold within is mostly burned off. It is unknown how the Originators built the nether fortresses. One theory states that they were orignally made of other materials, but the self-repair mechanisms contained within were constantly forced to incorporate Netherakk into the fortress' structure.
Soul Sand:
Soul sand is a grainy, sticky substance with strong hallucinogenic properties. This is caused by particles of souls and being stirred into the air by hot air.
Ghasts:
Ghasts are Originator drones originally built to defend their fortresses from Pigmen. Over time, the AI contained within each drone went haywire, creating a mindless machine. This degeneration would not have been apparent to any Originator, as they had suffered their Cataclysm earlier, in 543 AA.
