It seems we spend so much time discussing the negatives in minecraft we forget the positives.
One thing I like is the freedom it gives me.
The thought is there, but the participation (as already demonstraited) will probably be sarcastic mostly.
Though I would love to be shown to be false in my presumptions.
I like Minecraft, because of the things I am able to teach myself via the game. I improve my texturing skills, I improve my understanding of basic electrical fun. I also improve my programming skills! The game is wonderful for relaxing vistas (regardless of these terrain complaints))
I relish the sandboxness of the game. And the upcoming API will give more sand for the box. (Assuming it arrives...) As you can see I am not without my cynicism. Everything is good in healthy doses.
Regardless, I am quite satisfied with the game. And the roads it has opened up on my computer, not to mention people I have met in the forums and on servers.
Every popular game forum I've ever been is full of "OH MY GOSH THIS GAME SUCKS NOW IT NEEDS TO BE LIKE HOW IT USED TO BE" lol.
I'm not even kidding, it's hilarious. Every single one.
Complainers are always much louder. I think it's usually because most people who really enjoy the game just play it and don't really bother with the forums, while people who really want change feel the need to be heard so the change can hopefully be made and they can enjoy their game again.
Keep in mind there're millions of players in Minecraft. How many of them post here?
The community. Its hard to find a nice person on any other game, but I find a lot of nice people to talk to on here. I like the building, enchanting, the combat, the randomly generated terrain. To sum it up, I pretty much like everything.

I wouldn't say everyone here is 'jolly' but the are much nicer to be around
I enjoy seeing what other people can do in the game. I usually watch videos at least ten times more than I actually play the game. It has just run its course for me and I pretty much only play when updates come out.
Everything. Vague, I know, but anything I find wrong about this game is more of personal opinion and nothing really that would impact the masses. Maybe the fact that Minecraft is not the most optimized game? But other than that, I find everything great about Minecraft.
The alternate world. It's a place where I can do things I probably couldn't do in reality, I can slow down and take my time. Oh, and can't help adoring really pretty terrains

I better stop now, or no one will read the wall.

Edit: Man, I am just awful at typing today. x__x
Not everyone, but a lot. A lot more than in other games I play.
