If only it was still there. I loved that generation option. I don't know if there are any terrain generating mods out there that can give you this again, but I'll look for it as I loved it.
You know what else was cool? The Indev starter house.
Cool, but I think I have you topped. Once, I walked out of my cobblestone house and saw this. AMAZING RIGHT!??! IT'S A HILL. Good ol' 1.8 terrain...

To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.

That looks... Bland... The only things that will ever even come somewhat close are Alpha and maybe 1.7 generation(Though it seems like you are joking, I am still offended that someone would say it compared)...
I use MCnostalgia. So i can go to indev whenever i want. im trying to find the generation files for indev and im going to make them replace my current generation files.
I clicked on the second page and when I saw your post, I knew that raynbow was talking about me xD. Yes, I was being sarcastic. If I wasn't I must've lost a few hundred brain cells.

net.minecraft.a.a.c.a.class — the generator itself.
net.minecraft.a.a.c.a.a.class, net.minecraft.a.a.c.a.b.class, net.minecraft.a.a.c.a.c.class,net.minecraft.a.a.c.a.d.class — noise.
net.minecraft.a.a.g.class — World.class in MCP, Level.class for Notch (In Classic some classes are unobfuscated) with the tree generation, player spawning etc.
But it's not as easy as you think. It took me VERY long time to implement finite maps in the NBXlite.
And there are already 2 mods with Indev generation — NBXlite with the fully functional finite worlds, and DatWorldGen's Generator Ports, with only terrain (So the themes work very bad, boundaries are loaded like normal chunks etc.), but much better mod compatibility.

No.. no it was not.
But remember google is a good tool
I can't remember anything from back in those days.
Although i have fond memories of... what was it... rana?
And all the time spent BURNING them to death...
So cruel.
I am here for you, Don't be afraid to send me a message.
Wow, thank you. Also, one post shy of the seven hundred mark!
Stay fluffy~

Wow, I look at this new, dull, bland, bleak picture and realize how bad the terrain has gotten.

Compared to what? Baren floating neon green islands?
I don't like much post 1.8 terrain but common.
