I own both games. I used to compare the 2 also. But once I played terreria I noticed that minecraft and terreria are 2 TOTALLY different games. There are some features in terreria that would actually look good in minecraft and vice versa. I think that if anything these two games and their devs could lean on eachother and help eachother out.

you know, AoS actually wasnt a bad game..... at first. But then when I realized that the game was absolutely filled with the worst hybrid of terrible gamers I quit cold turkey. I played a few rounds online and the community is somewhere between 8 and 12 year old halo gamers and 8 and 12 year old CoD gamers, Throw in a dash of hax and you have AoS. :/

My general opinion: if you really like building, pick Minecraft. You've got an infinite space to work with and an extra dimension as well. Otherwise, Terraria is superior in pretty much every aspect, and it's even more appealing if you like platforming and combat. Even though the worlds aren't infinite like in Minecraft, Minecraft's terrain is incredibly predictable and thus has very few places to explore and very few challenges to encounter. Terraria's world, however, has plenty more places to explore (many of which are quite challenging). In every other area Terraria pretty much has the edge regardless.

Yeah so I skipped to the last page and didn't read many replies but I think Terraria has NOTHING to do with minecraft...

I do really enjoy both games, but I started playing minecraft about 4 years ago, so its definitely a classic for me, but if I were to choose a either of them, I would definitely choose minecraft, if not for the massive variety of mods out there. Mods just make everything so much better. But I understand that you've finished this discussion. Is it because you have played terraria, or just because the evidence is so overwhelmingly against what you previously stated?

Cant you just realize that because Terraria has blocks and you have to Mine and craft that it is not a replica of Minecraft? We've already got Roblox for that!

Also, Terraria has much more than that. Much, MUCH more. For example, it has a deeper layer of earth, it has about 3 time as more ore types, the game itself is harder because of the amount of material needed to make armor/weapons/items, it has 7 Bosses and 2 minibosses, it has lot more complex dungeon systems, and I haven't even started on different types of biomes, armor, weapons(It has guns), items, npcs, etc. At least the creator apologized, but then, he should edit the original post stating his apology.
