THats outrageous! How could such a major oversight be possible!?
Because that's not possible. You need to login to be able to play in offline mode. To login you need an account. To get an account you, need to buy the game.
If cracked players can't play on servers, how do people get onto servers with hacked clients? Not just cracked, one with hax. I doubt they would need to put in a legit username and password.
I don't really care, and hating them would be hypocritical of me since I've used a couple torrents for things as well...
That's only for Premium users. Hacked clients simply hack the launcher/login process, a valid username is not required nor is a valid password. The game it self is untouched and you can totally play online with it. However if the server you are trying to connect to is configured to validate (Check) usernames/passwords with the login server then obviously those hacked clients can't join that server as they'll fail that part of the connection process.
For some reason Mojang has implemented a feature for servers to allow them to disable that check, though... which is odd but whatever (I assume to allow legit users some way to continue playing should the login server go offline for some reason?).
However if the server enables that option then the only thing that defines your rank (Pleb, moderator, admin etc.) is your name and well, that can be forged by simply logging in with an admins name while the admin isn't online and then you will have admin powers...
Which is probably why:
1) Most servers don't ever disable that check. People can become admin by simply changing there name, which is terribly prone to being abused.
2) Small groups of friends that totally trust each other are very likely the biggest user of hacked clients.
3) Most users buy the game, because they want a consistant/lawful (lawful within the confines of the server they're connecting to) online experience.
NO. Becuz im one of them. And besides, its just like playing the original minecraft. You can join servers N' stuff. And did they do any harm to you? No

Ive been told I wasted money on MineCraft and things like that....Those are lies...There are some Key Features that Really stand out. Cracked? Ive had Cracked friends unable to go to Prenium servers and were alone. Some got Tekkit Cracked and Act Childish. They really Annoy me "you wasted your money!" "your just mad that you wasted your money!" LIES LIES LIES.
I have no problem with cracked minecraft players as long as they buy it eventually. I was a cracked minecraft player between alpha 1.2 and early beta due to not having a debit card, i bought minecraft the day i got a method to pay for it
Well as a cracked user I don't really care.
I will buy minecraft in February.
My birthday and I get lots of cash.
Last time i couldn't buy the game cause of the heavy bugs called paypal and noone wants to use their credit card to buy a game even if you paid them double the price of the game.
This year it's a bit different so I am looking forward to buying the game.
My brother has credit card and paypal account and he doesn't mind using his account to buy a game for me,as long as i pay him the price of the game ofcourse.
Been playing since june 2010.
Even if i bought the game by now I still would care much about premium or cracked users.
Since I know that some may have huge difficulty of obdaining the original copy of the game.
My issue with pirating is that in some cases it COULD make the company stop producing their product. This is not to say I do not pirate (especially music, come on now) but still. The singer Lily Allen stated that this was the reason she was leaving the music business (athough, i somewhat doubt that.) So if it were the case that cracked users were causing mojang to go out of business and stop making minecraft, then yes, I would be displeased with them. That does not seem to be the case, however, so I am indifferent.

I don't hate them, there could be a reason say they can't afford mc, but I think if they can get the game get it. Just cause there was/si so much effot being put into mc the least we can do is fork over some cash if we can afford it.
LOL sounds like I am the only one and people aren't going to like me afterwords but...
Yes. Something you have to pay for? You pay nothing you are stealing. Sorry but you are.
Excuses like
"I can't afford it." Then don't play it isn't going to kill you to wait till you have the money. If you have internet and a computer I pretty sure you can get the money. If your a kid um try working out something with the parents or guardian (thats how my kid got minecraft).
Mojang has enough money. You make a game that captures millions of people then let see if you care if hackers take your money. Money going his pockets will keep Minecraft updating. No money, No updates. (the Mojang team deserves their paychecks)
"I did it to try it" Maybe at one time this was required but the demo has been up for awhile so not an excuse anymore.
We may be entitled to our opinions, but we are not entitled to free services.
A question if I may. Is there not still a Minecraft Demo? If so, why are the twits still pirating Minecraft? I find the money excuse really weak.
Thanks,
Marv
Agreed. If someone doesn't have $30 to buy Minecraft they really shouldn't be wasting time playing a cracked version of it and likely need to rethink their priorities, goals, and motivation in life.
I totally don't understand the apathy of these people saying "Well if they really can't afford it then it's OK to pirate it." So if someone doesn't have the money to buy a computer to play Minecraft on can they just "pirate" that too? I can't afford a BMW 5 series; so it's OK if I just "pirate" that right? Oh, stealing a car isn't OK... well what dollar amount is OK to steal if I "Cant afford it"? OOOoohhh software is "different".... Fail logic is fail.
Also don't understand the "Mojang has made enough money so it's OK to steal from them." Oh really? Who gets to decide when someone has made enough money and we can just loot them? How much money do they have to make before we can "pirate" their stuff?
How very sad and pathetic... and people wonder why the countries are locked in political debate over these very questions at a macro economic level. Isn't it obvious? There's a huge swath of people who truly believe these things are OK based on the provided rationales and they voted for politicians to go represent their beliefs.
Look I'm no saint here but never I lied to myself thinking the bad things I've done were OK because of some logical fallacy. If you "pirate" stuff or don't care that some steal from others then just own it... no need to give BS excuses. I'd rather you be honest about your position even if I disagree then to try and convince me it's OK based on a very weak reasons.

Then I tried to get the real one and it wouldnt take my credit card...
So I'm still on cracked...
