I just started playing minecraft in the last couple of months, and I have done a little wiki reading because I was intrested in grow one of my village on my world, and then transplanting some of them in a new village closer to my main buildings.
However my villager do not seem to spawning more villagers and I have 28 doors, this should according to the wiki be giving me about 9 villagers and I only have the three I started with. Is this a glitch? I hope not I really like the world.
Also if anyone has any youtube videos that includes tips on building villages or methods of moving villagers from one place to another would be nice also.
Make sure that you have solid blocks on top of the doors, if you don't then the village won't treat them as "houses". You can also download the village info mod (if you know how to download mods)
I am pretty sure that there is a solid block above the door, It has an oak plank above them, my house design was a fondation one block up from ground level, stairs lead up to the door. the walls are the hight of the door and the roof covers above the door hight, there also stairs that go up to a second level which is the second floor for all my houses. The second floor does not curently have a roof but from what I have read this should not be the issuse.
Is two block hight walls and the roof at the third block hight to cramp for them? can villagers even feel cramp?
I don't think its to cramped, i think you might need to add more doors. Make sure that mobs aren't getting into the village and killing the villagers that spawn. Also, put a roof on the second floor. If you know how to, can you show me some pics?
Try dumping water on the villagers, that seems to help sometimes.
Seriously.

Let’s play good guys against bad guys… Yes. Let’s play that. Are you ready? You’re the bad guy. And when you’re bad, you just run. That’s fine right? Well… Shall we play?
I am in peaceful mode when I am on that world, so I am not worried about mobs Killing my villager. As for pictures can minecraft do screen shots?
I think it's f2.

OK it seem to have fixed it self, although I am wondering where does it save the screen shots at and how would I upload them into the forum post. (I may just post them so you guys can see them and may be make sugestions on how to make better looking buildings.

Got Windows? Press [Windows key]+[R] (or click the start button and click on the search box), then type the following, exactly, percent signs and all, and then hit [Enter]:
%appdata%/.minecraft
(Note the leading period in ".minecraft"). This will take you to your main .minecraft ("dot-minecraft," as it's sometimes called) folder. From there you can access other important folders like "bin" ("binary," where the actual game files are stored); "saves," where your world save folders are stored; "texturepacks," where you place texture pack files; and..."screenshots," where, you guessed it, in-game screenshots are saved.
