I agree but minecraft looks weird the other way. If you have ever coded anything world generation you would understand.
So this cant be fixed? it just.... very frustrating to find a stronghold and found it torn apart by cave systems. Not to mention caves seems to be ...everywhere?
I get what MrHowardguy was saying about the fact that the Minecraft world is supposed to be uninhabited at the onset of your playing. Therefore, all old structures have felt the cold hand of nature.
Why netheracks cover most part of nether fortresses?
Why temple parts get replaced by sand/jungle blocks?
Isn't it be the other way around? Structures should replace terrain!!! Why let those stupid endless cave systems destory those strongholds?

It wont. It just make them looks like they are constructed after the cave forms.
