Please post your most awkward and funniest deaths, maybe even most consecutive, and what did you lose?
ok lava and caves are SO ANNOYING!! everytime i mine, i fall into a cave with tons of lava and i try to see what i can find near it and fall into the most obvious traps and die
I tend to play vanilla servers mostly, cause I like the challenge, so nothing is protected... often times zombies may break the doors down and then creepers will fallow behind them and mess me up.
So many times a zombie or skele will beat the crap out of me then right when I die a creeper explodes and destroys my items.
gotta love that.
Or the occasional falling into lava while mining or building in the nether.
But don't get me wrong, I don't die often... I consider myself a very successful survivalist of Minecraft.
Exploding creeper, survive, second creeper out of nowhere.
Skeleton/creeper knocks me off ledge, survive fall, swarmed by mobs.
Fall in lava, escape, burn to death.
Ghast fireballs, run for cover, burn to death.
Ghast hurts zombie pigmen, zombie pigmen inexplicably gang up and kill me. Repeat several times while I try to retrieve my items, until all the items have burned up in fire.
Probably fall damage (used to wearing FFIV) or lava. I mean, mobs can't really touch you if you've got iron armour. Unless you get double creepered 1 block away but that shouldn't really happen.
im sure i have about a million stories about amusing deaths.. but i have a terrible memory lol.. heres some:
i had build a mob trap for *craps* and giggles, and was waiting under it at night (its one of those big dark rooms in the air, that push mobs into the center hole where they drop to their death. as i was waiting in the waiting room i made, i ventured up to the spider-resistant roof i had set up. i was walking around the edge, and i see a group of 5 creepers chilling right outside. they look at me. i giggle. i say, 'sup bro, u mad? =D'. as this was happening, something i was un-aware of was happening. a skeleton was about to plummet to his death behind me. as he was doing this, i was looking into the small army of creepers directly below me. and then it happened. mid-fall, the skeleton had his vengeance. he shot me, pushing me forward just enough to fall off, and land directly in the middle of my explosive green friends down there... you can guess what happened next =P
another time, i was trading with a villager. i have a very laggy computer, and a itchy-clicker-finger, so i accidentally wound up hitting this guy with the wheat i was holding. there was an iron golem a couple of steps behind me at the time.. and he was not amused by my accidental clicking folly.he had me thrown in the corner of 2 buildings, so there was no escaping this immenent death, with him standing there, blocking the only way i could have ran.
another time, i was walking quite a distance, setting up rails from my main house to a pretty far away village i found. i got pretty lost, because im terrible with direction, and started running around aimlessly, looking for landmarks.then, it happened. whilst not looking at the ground. i fell into it. a freakin ONE BLOCK area in a field that didnt have a grass block there, nor any block under it, until about 80 blocks downward. i plummeted, didnt get my bucket of water out in time and landed in this new-found ravine, dieing the instant i hit the ground and losing alot of good stuff, including ALL of my gold at the time (35 gold blocks i think) that i had taken with me to build powered rails.
in a village. found door had been broken into by a zombie. walked in there expecting to see said zombie. nope. i see a creeper. chillin on the stairs that make up the make-shift chairs near a table. he aparently wasnt very pleased to see me.
almost forgot, first time i ever played minecraft. i came across a creeper. i walked up to him asking my cousin 'who is this guy?' she replied something like 'OMG RUN AWAYY!' i go 'why? he looks so frie...' *BOOM* 'WTF?!?!'
thats all the more amusing stories of my deaths i can remember (although im sure theres alot more im forgetting)
I like how someone actually voted for starving to death.
Bottom line, with the exception of maybe the first couple nights of a new map, if you die from starvation *usually* as the title of this thread suggests, meaning you die from starvation more than anything else; then you sir/ma'am are failling the entire point of survival.
Like I said, I would understand at first... but I mean at some point you should atleast get zombie meat or something..
It's not hard to find some water, make torches and a wooden hoe and break some grass for seeds and you'll have atleast SOME bread within 20 minutes.
But yeah, that's an exception... and even starting a brand new map it's really easy to NOT starve yourself to death.
Any time I see it happening in a multiplyplayer server I just shake my head..
theres only been one time that i ALMOST died of starvation, i created a new hardcore world, and spawned in the middle of a huuuuuge desert. i was pretty sure i was boned, but after my hunger bar was completely drained and i started taking damage, i finally found a swamp biome along with some ducks (idc what minecraft says, theyre ducks =P) and managed to kill them for their duck meat. barely escaped with my life.
i could see how someone could die from that the most if they are extremely unlucky and always spawn in the middle of a massive desert like i did.. i guess =P
Creepers often kill me when I'm on full health (minus 1/2 hearts) weirdly enough. A Skeleton once shot an arrow, through lava, knocking me off a ravine edge and killing me whilst on fire. What a boss.

cant tell you how many hardcore save files ive lost while i was running away from a group of mobs that spawned infront of me when i was at low health, only to be sniped by one of them.

I was mining down with some diamond armor and i feel in this really big lava pool, i couldn't get out.......
But then i tried to get it all back and my diamond chest was on the edge of a stone block :0
