Hello, i am starting this forum when version 1.4 comes out for the PC. You could post what you name your weapon, tool or armor. For example if i named my golden sword "Golden Dildo" i would post it on here. So anything you name in Minecraft version 1.4 you could post on this.
Are you saying you can name things in the new update?
Yes, you can rename tools and various other items whatever you wish to name them, at the cost of XP and some of the durability of an anvil; which is a new utility that will be in the 1.4 update / is in many of the snapshots / the pre-release.
Edit: Back on topic for a moment, Diamond Sword = Master Sword... For those not crazy about Zelda games like me... Diamond Sword = The Creeper Killer / Creeper's Bane

Mature, coming from someone with a name like that..
I don't really understand the point of naming things if no one else will see them anyway.
I think the new anvil naming thing is cool, but it is better to use mcedit as there is no character restriction and you can add lore. I named my diamond sword with sharpness 10 unbreaking 10 fire aspect 10 knockback 10 looting 10 bane of arthropods 10 and smite 10 The Sword of Eternal darkness with the lore saying:
A weapon forged by the Gods,
imbued with pure darkness itself
it gives the wielder god like power
and a leader of men.
The blade reaps the souls of its
victims, and can kill even immortals.
It is a weapon for only the strongest of
men, and can only be wielded by a
true leader.
Underestimating the strength of this weapon
will lead to your own demise.
Anyone else have an idea for lores? And the anvil is useful in singleplayer if you want to make the world into an adventure map or just want to show friends.

Well, yes, but the feature was created for users who are just playing the game and have no interest in creating items that would be unbalanced.
To give our children and future generations hope, we must destroy every child on Earth and never have any more. I have already started this misson, child numbers have been halved in my local district. Will you join the cause?

A very cool idea to add to the lore of the game, or to hunt down a specific sword. For instance, a Diamond Sword with enchant could be called something eloquent like "Diablo's Fury", or something simple like "Fire Sword". I like this idea very much, but don't see the point in having to use extra XP to name it (I believe I read that we have to use extra XP to name the unit).
I'm going to make a pair of iron swords and call them 'Durandal' and 'Murgleis'. I'll get back to you on the enchantments. For that matter, I want a diamond sword called 'Joyeuse.'
What's the point? Why would I waste levels on redundant sh*t like that, it's very likely that I'm the only one who'll ever get to see the weapon anways.
Same reason you'd build pointless superstructures. Because you -can-.

As of today, you can name just abut anything. There is a creative mode anvil glitch; put an item in the first slot, rename it, and you should be able to take out your renamed item.

For every thought you think, every word you speak, every move you make, remember that at least one person will never forget.
