1: Bah, Minecraft was better with 1 million people rather than 10 million people... God... those were the days.
2: Im not sure if you know it but most xray packs contain viruses. Keyloggers and such
I doubt they are hosting viruses on minecraftforum.net and in 13 pages no one has noticed anything:
Orefuscator does a pretty good job of preventing X-Ray on the server I play on. It even prevents the effective use of otherwise legitimate (eg. unmodded) X-Ray machines. It also makes x-ray texture packs pretty useless too. They can still be used but only for certain things and only in some cases (close to the surface spawners, for example).
I don't know. I was an Xbox gamer until I got Minecraft PC. In my opinion, if he's wanting to play with strangers then he should be expecting people to hack (kinda like MW3 I guess). I'll still support some penalty implemented from Mojang for hacking though.
Console gaming is a joke. Try to hack in Steam and watch your account get banned forever
Normally I'd say, that the cheats don't ruin minecraft. Everybody should use it or don't use it - it's everybodies own decision. But you're right: this opinion doesn't work on servers. I hope you'll find a good server where all your server mates have the same stance on cheats like you! I had to change my server several times before I found a good one where everybody has the same point of view!
They are probably hacking even if they say they aren't.
Looks like you've been playing the wrong servers, OP. Plenty of them are good and have staff that ban x-rayers and griefers. There are also plenty that do nothing of the sort.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
On any online game you play there are going to be cheaters, it's part of life, if you let it ruin the game for you, then they have won.
If you really want the cheaters to go away, like any other annoyance, ignore it long enough and they die off.
Anyways. I find all these mods unfair. I don't want to play singleplayer, I just want to play multiplayer with a fair chance among all players. It also requires lava, tnt AND water. I am sick of joining a server to find out they disabled water placement.. ?? Why..............................
Hey theres this guy mining, I think I will go kill him. I sneak up behind him and BAM. I am dead before he even knows I am there because of forcefield/kill aura whatever it's called.
Or I get into a pvp match with someone and he doesn't even aim. He just sits there clicking in 1 direction. I met one guy who sat and clicked in 1 direction in the spawn pvp area. He died only hitting me once. He then came back almost right after and hit me as fast as the game would even allow, then I couldn't even get near him let alone hit him without dying because he seemingly had "skill" that was lacked in the first fight, even though he just clicked in 1 direction and sat there unlike other players.. So he was willing to derp at me and lose an enchanted diamond set before coming back and wtf pwning me. Seems legit.
I use the fastest mouse speed to dance around players in pvp, but hacks beat reaction times.
If you think I am bad at pvp. I usualy start with protection 1 leather boots and a sharpness 1 stone sword. I go to spawn untill I kill someone and get free stuff at a low risk and nearly no resource system. I do this and end up with a chest of iron and diamond loot.
Then theres the guys who hack/glitch through your 2 wall thick doorless base on protected land. Can't prevent spawnkilling untill his diamond helm breaks. He then teleports away.
Him and his group came to my base, they sat around outside and spammed wool blocks everywhere before leaving. Then one guy came back an hour later and poofed into our base somehow. It could have been enderpearls. But I didn't hear any smacks untill I was being spawnkilled. We figured before hand that we could ignore the guy because he couldn't get in.
But what about x-ray? Oh you just killed me and got my diamond armor? You stored it at your base? No worries. I have another 10 sets and 2 stacks of diamond to spare. Totaly legit.
Wow this is not a good intro into servers. I would think that servers that wish to prevent cheating would have a whitelist, make the rules known, then simply ban anyone they deem cheating. Any signs of hacking or the sort would be banned immediately, and then the person would have to get whitelisted again on a different account and ip to be able to do anything, which obviously wont happen.
Isn't that just sad? Servers practically require plugins to prevent griefing and hacking. Without them, hosting a public server is a very idiotic idea. Sometimes, not even plugins will prevent these issues. There's always that one person who'll find his/her way around everything.
Exactly. Oh and I said wooden sword on accident. I meant stone sword XD. I never even make wood swords.
The mods that are used can even be detrimental while not working. One server would constantly kick players for hacking when they didn't do anything. The server would also freeze you if you used to many stairs for trying to avoid fall damage.
Then theres the ones that have random patches of ores, spawners and mossy cobble on walls untill you punch the spot. Although it did actualy work as someone came on the server, said the server sucked because it prevented X-ray and then left.. I had someone on the server who told me he used x-ray. But this mod didn't prevent him from finding diamonds. He just used another mod.
i hate xray, amillions times over, and, duhduhduh, i am fine with locking chest, after all, who wants to have their chest raided, not meof course, i hate blocking lava and tnt, but if it is an anti pvp server, then they want to stop greffers main method of attack, thus, lava and tnt blockesrs
I dislike cheaters, however I don't think they should be banned from minecraft. They can play however the hell they want. Plus, it would be hell hard to find cheaters anyway - I can develop my own mod and not distribute it, and nobody would ever know. False alarm, and suddenly you've got thousands of people complaining.
Simple. You code a database (official by Mojang) where you submit your mods. If the mod is passed because it doesn't contain any cheat related-exploit stuff it stays there. When you connect to any server it will first check in the official validated database for your .jar and .exe (because there are hacked clients out there). If there is nothing weird you pass and connect to the server. If not = permabanned. This is how it works in Steam.
All those big servers with 50+ plugins ruin the feel of Minecraft
Well things like enderchests actualy take place of that /chest function. I would like to find a nice non protected, vanilla whitelist server. Then stay there.
Maybe add a warp system and thats all I would want.

http://www.minecraft...0000-downloads/
Plus there aren't executables on there, and if something weird happened and tried to modify the windows registry Comodo Firewall would have popped up.
What kind of aspie enjoys playing minecraft alone?
It isn't fun.
I guess we've found it.
Wrong. Download the latest Xray and test around. None of these plugins do about it.
Obviously we are talking survival and not creative were fly is implemented, and you are in god mode , duh

You arent alone on that.

Now the only thing that slabs are useful for is decoration.
