If the saying just use mods, its optional (When its not) or just downgrade.
Where offenses you could be banned for. The forums would be much better. Those add nothing to any debate, on any board they are posted upon. And you can see threads spammed full of them at times.
Not that these forums are great for debate when 5-10 posts moves it to a new page. So everything everyone was talking about goes back to relying to op's first post. Even if the debate has moved far past that. In fact I'd say that is the number one reason many large boards are stressful to many everyone involved with them.
From op having to talk the same points, to others with great replies being lost in the next page.
I don't know how old you are, but younger people usually seem to misunderstand people that have a different opinion than theirs.
Just because someone thinks something else, and expresses him/herself about it on your topic, doesn't mean that they be hatin'.
After all, forums are a place to share your opinions and ideas about things, and look at other people's opinions.
Haters aren't hating, they're just sharing their view on things, and if it's done without any good reasoning I suggest that you ask them for reasons.
People are not haters, there simply putting there view across. Asking for the point of view of others.
Im not talking about people that oppose whatever the post says, im talking about the people that diss others and call them retarded and stupid because of their ideas. Not constructive critisism, but HATING.
Haters is a catch-all term that encompasses several different sub-groups of people. As such, I despise the term. Below are the sub-groups that can be labeled "haters."
Fanboys: These people believe whatever they are told by X, and do whatever they are told by X. They will attack anything that opposes X to the best of their ability. These people are often immature, and are characterized by repetitousness, and the inability to think for themselves.
Trolls: These people are just messing with you, because they want you to get angry. They are often characterized by twisting your words, being overly dismissive of your ideas, and providing no valid reasoning behind their attack.
Haters (actual group, not catch-all): These people despise your idea for whatever reason and will stop at nothing to rip you apart. They are often characterized by relentless assault, venomous attack, and using whatever they can find to prove their point. Cursing is found quite often, as are petty insults.
Critics: These people are the only good group that are labeled "haters." They are characterized by good grammar, proper spelling, valid reasoning, logic and the capability for independent thought and the capacity to consider other's ideas and thoughts. They can fall into lapses of logic if angered, but for the most part these people are actually thinking about your suggestion from multiple angles, and can always provide valid logic as to why your idea is faulty.
Fanboys, haters and trolls are all not good. Don't confuse criticism with hate. This is a forum where free speech is allowed, and as such, there is a right to criticize. Try to thing logically about your idea, step back and consider it from an impersonal standpoint. What if it wasn't your idea, and you were reading it? How would you react? Does the idea fit with Minecraft? Has it been suggested before? Is it overpowered, underpowered? Would it lack support?
Constructive criticism is often misconstrued as hate. It's not. Learn to see the difference.
