Personally, I don't think Minecraft has become too easy. I like minecraft because of what you can do once you have the capacity to not care about things like hunger, mobs etc. I love Minecraft because it can be used as an FPS game, an RPG, or even just to build. The possibilities with the game are endless. If you did want a challenge, though, as stated previously in the thread, just install a few overhaul mods, there are many that are sure to make the game as tough as it possibly can be.
If you want massive new content if minecraft is too easy for you just get advent of ascension. You will never complain again with this 1.7.10 mod trust me
This is exactly the answer and response to the original poster that was needed and I agree 100%.

Oh jeez, I remember I met this guy 7 months ago.
10/10 man.
Anyway, no, I don't believe Minecraft has become too easy. It is a bit easier than some other survival games, but not too easy.
Besides, you can use Modpacks to make an even better experience.

For the most part Minecraft hasn't really become too easy. Surely there are a few things like potions and sprinting that made the game easier but they all have some downsides which makes them balanced ( Potions are annoying to make and you don't use them very often while sprinting depletes your hunger bar really fast ). However the main thing that makes this game easy imo is armor. I mean with unenchanted Iron Armor alone you can survive Creeper blasts and pretty much any non boss mob, and with enchanted diamond armor you are practically invincible. I think it would be better if they made Diamond armor about as good as Iron armor now is and Iron armor as good as leather armor. Also the protection enchantment is overpowered because what is the point of having blast protection or fire protection enchantments when protection does the same + more. I think they should just remove the protection enchantment to make the other enchantments for armor more useful and make the game more balanced.
I agree with you, the protection enchantment needs to go.
You know why some people think Minecraft is too easy? It's because when you play a game for so long, you get really good at it, and it's no longer hard.
I'd say it's even easier in 1.9, actually. The most devastating mobs in 1.8 were indirectly nerfed by player buffs that counter their only strengths against the player; skeletons (which previously were borderline impossible to intentionally dodge at melee range) are handily countered by shields, and DoT-inflicting mobs (previously devastating due to ignoring armor) are countered by the saturation/regeneration buff. Meanwhile, while the weakest mobs were buffed, they're still extremely weak and therefore not noticeably more difficult.
Perhaps it's a bit better to say it's more skill-based. Before, you could basically go in guns blazing and wreck everything, but take unavoidable damage from a handful of mobs. Now, doing the same thing will result in much damage, but an ounce of strategy will not only make the common rabble about as easy as they were before, but it'll also make the few enemies that could actually deal damage reliably that ineffectual as well.
This doesn't mean it isn't easy--combat boils down to "shield against skeletons, hide around the corner from blazes until they fire, reflect ghast fireballs or shoot them, smack everything else from the edge of your melee range where they can't do anything, eat steak if you're hit by a DoT" which is hardly difficult to execute at all--but don't get me wrong, it's definitely an improvement over what we had. That still doesn't mean it's difficult, but...

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

I didn't specifically say 1.9, I mean any updates within and after 1.9!
I felt the same way so I made a survival server where all I did was enhance the survival gameplay and make it much more difficult. On my server I dare you to dig a hole cover it and see how long you survive lol it won't take long for your death to come. It's a whitelist only server so if your interested just pm me.
What would happen if two Endermen

If we all just agree with you that Minecraft is too easy and even a fetus can win, will you promise to let these stupid threads die?
