I'm getting tired of building using the same style every single time. It's pretty similar to the villager's houses. I've tried using a combination of solid stone and stone bricks but I can never get it to look right. Any advice would be appreciated.
You probably "can't get it to look right" because stone and stone bricks are both gray. An aesthetically pleasing house uses multiple colors. Try adding in some wood trim to contrast with the gray.

I've noticed that birch planks go well with stone and stone bricks because they're both lighter in color.
Cobblestone and spruce also go well together.
If you have any in-game screenshots of different styles, that might help too.
remember one thing..minecraft is all about your imagination..and literally everything can be built..so dont go with mainstream houses like in real life.symetrical.with a normal roof..make full use of minecraft physics..challenge yourself..try round abot balcomies.a water walled skyscraper..a floating castle..a mushroom house..i have a mushroom house.a castle with water falls on either side and a wall extending from it..and a jungle tree house..and a nether temple for the portal
