Like someone before said - I completely agree.
There's no end to Minecraft and if you get bored of it there's always something new you could try. I've been playing for a short time, about 4 of 5 months and it's a really fun game to me still.
(I originated from Xbox version, that might be a good reason)

My girlfriend broke up with me 'cuz I make too many Linkin Park references. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.
I felt the same way, but once I started using the default texture pack again and came back after a long time away, it a lot of fun again. It's a phase, indeed. But it feels like you've lost a great game during the phase. Don't worry, you'll love the game soon again.
Yeah its definately lost its Spark. When I started it was the best thing. Played it almost everyday after school. I had probably the best server to exist, but it died out. I went from server to server finding a few good ones to play on. I even flew skyships in a desert! Since then everyone jumped on the bandwagon and kinda ruined it Why? (No offence to new people this is directed to) : the regular spammers, hackers and just the jerks that jumped on the bandwagon. Still the new things added to minecraft too, kidna like how old people dont like change (Some of them)
Still everyone once and a while I look for that perfect server, still haven't found one to reignite the flame.

And stop making these ****ing threads. What exactly are you trying to accomplish by burying threads posted by people who actually enjoy and play the game?
That has happened to me. What I would recommend would be to go play some others games for a 1-2 weeks and then try Minecraft again and see if the spark is back.
How many posts of these 'I want the Minecraft feeling back' have I seen? IMHO, I never get bored, every single day you learn something, it can either be a discovery, an adventure map, a mod you got, a new server to play in, endless possibilities. People just think the game is too boring and leave it like that, but others find a way to make the game seem interesting for them again, I for one respect your point, but there's always new ways to get the 'spark' again. But in a whole different way.
I went through a phase like that. I started with beta 1.6 and by the time beta 1.8 came out i was playing for about 20 mins and then getting off out of shear boredom. If your looking for spice, multiplier servers are pretty fun, I have run a creative type server where we made all sorts of awesome collaborative structures. Otherwise Hard Core Factions (HCF) is a cool public PVP server. I am currently using the Technic Pack Launcher add-on. It adds so much stuff to the game and has helped re-kindle the spark of Minecraft.
It's a matter of taste. I went from the PC Gamer demo to the full version and was awestruck by how much more stuff you cuold do and how many more features there were, even though I did notice the terrain got more "boring" and really hope the worldgen system will be reverted to how it was before, or at least to some kind of middle-ground.
Minecraft has gone down hill in three major respects.
a} It's become terminally bloated, even on high end hardware. Use MCNostalgia, and download 1.7.3, or an even earlier version. Observe how much more responsive, and less laggy the game is. I've got an 8 core processor with a dual video card and 12 gb of RAM, and I generally don't get above 50 FPS. If I put the drawdistance at anything above short, my video card temperature also goes above 60 C.
Wow. I have a far weaker computer than that and it runs fairly smooth for me, so I would imagine it should run completely fine for you. Might be your map, I suppose. Do you have a lot of water/magma flow or redstone stuff going on around you? :/
c2} Given how abundant food is, the hunger system has actually made combat vastly easier, rather than more difficult. You've got constant healing over time, as long as your hunger bar is full.
It works both ways, I suppose. The current system makes it impossible to insta-heal in the middle of combat, which does add challenge to fighting, but ya, I definiely see your point, too.

Mmh. There is not reason for talk so rude. I mean. He's just in a "phase" like the others said. He's not saying that want the 1.0 back...

If anything, I think Minecraft has gained "a spark". After I started playing it on the xbox 360 version, I took it to the advanced, And bought it for the computer at 1.3.1 update.
I LOVE IT!
I started around the beginning of Beta, it just seems alot has changed
Yeah, I've played sicne Beta 1.3. I miss the Pre-1.8 terrain generator. It would be great if it was added as a world option, with 1.8+ and the superflat. Nothing is extreme, every seed is basically the same!
Mm, I'm still enjoying it, but if Minecraft has lost a "spark", I think it's because it's getting too good now. I've experienced this with authors, their early work is very rough around the edges, but it's exciting because they haven't set their style yet, they're still feeling their way, trying out new things. And then in later books, they've established how they like to work and it just doesn't have the same raw feeling anymore. It's better, but not as fresh anymore. Does that sound like the feeling you get?

"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."

Jeb is actually taking the game in the direction Notch wanted it to go in.
