So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Gravel does magical things to the world/worlds, since you need flint to get to the nether. How do you get flint? Gravel. How do you get to the nether? Nether portal with flint & steel. I have to say sponges, other than making spongebob bits all over the ground they suck.
We are talking about things you can get originally in the survival, right? If so, locked chests are out of question. Probably the dead shrub, altough I tink it looks pretty cool and neat in the desert.
I used powered minecarts in beta before powered rails. They only really have 1 and only 1 use. That is if you make a flat track a long distance from one base or location to another and want to move many chest minecarts with you.
Basically if you've finished with one area completely after being there for weeks or months and want to take everything important along with you. The one time I made such a rail line it was from my snow biome home in the mountains to the beach were I was building a 144x144 size mob tower before the stupid mob nerf and squids were added. I spent days digging through mountains to keep it flat.
Even if I had made it now it would use so much gold and redstone...
Don't get me wrong gold is still useful, but if you must have a super long railway (Maybe you raided a ton of mineshafts) and you want to save up every ingot for a beacon pyramid. Then it does have its use.
But with updates and snapshots so often...we just change worlds too often.
I say the most useless thing is the desert dead shrub or that white endstone.
i mean i like everything implemented in minecraft its all pretty great no complaints here but if i had to choose most useless.... uhm lapis i mean dyes great and all but give it a use like uhm this is completely random but temper tools with it in crafting bench to make there duration double hope you liked my opinion peace!

I use gravel/sand for building large structures because I can break the bottom block and replace with a torch and it all comes down.
I'm going with the others, and saying the dragon egg.
Probably just some kid. Who cares?
