I'm just wondering because I'll probably save up for it and buy one of those visa cards that you input money into. To me $26.95 is kinda a lot with the low income my family has. Is it really worth the money?
I would say that is definitely worth the money you spend on it.
after you have paid $27, you can play a fantastic game as much as you want for ever
it is not a monetly/weekly fee for playing (except some few servers).
Minecraft is well worth it, and it's a game that everyone in a family can jump in and play. Simply make a different world for everyone if you prefer that, or everyone can use the same world file and create your world together.
The difficulty of Minecraft is really down to the player. Are you content with just building and placing blocks? Or do you want something more technical like doors that can be operated using buttons, levers and so on? While smaller children might fully enjoy just making houses, treehouses, caves and so on, more adult players can fiddle with redstone, railroads and the more complex side of minecraft.
Of course, you can alter the difficulty level between peaceful, normal and hardcore as well, if that's your preference. Peaceful and normal I think you can alternate between during gameplay, but hardcore must be on a seperate world (where the world is deleted if you die since you only have one life ^^).
Anyways... if you are looking for a game where you can spend alot of hours, has no microtransactions or other stuff that basically requires you to pay to be able to play, and is a game for everyone in a family (if they like computer games anyways) then Minecraft is absolutely worth it.
Not to mention all the mods, texture packs and skins you can download (for free) to make the game even more fun.
Minecraft is pretty high on my list of worthwhile purchases. There's plenty to do, and with mods being developed constantly the game is pretty much never-ending with the amount of unique stuff to do.
Minecraft allows you to do whatever, whenever you want. You aren't forced to do a certain task, instead you can choose to do anything that you want. There are also plenty of mods if you ever feel as if though there is something missing in the game just to make your experience much more enjoyable. I think that it's definitely worth the money. You won't regret buying it.

Mainstream computer and console games are twice the cost and many are linear games that can be completed in a weekend. This game is half the cost and is never the same adventure each time you start a map. Kind of a no brainer if you ask me.
On Topic, there are millions of people playing this game, coming with new ideas all the time, some are even added to the game like Hippopotamus' piston idea! It's an evolving game, and it won't stop evolving for a long time. So why not join in on the fun?
I agree with everyone else. It is worth it. Not one person I have meet hasn't been completly sucked into the Minecraft world after they bought it. At the same time, if your family is struggling with money don't get it. It is a total waste of time, but you enjoy every minute of it. Its pretty contradictory.
Minecraft is much cheaper than other games and provides more entertainment to boot. I bought it right after Alpha nearly a year or two ago and am still loving it. In fact, I love it more than any other (more expensive) games I own.
Yes!Minecraft is endless fun! There is plain vanilla Minecraft which will last you a while then there is the option of thousands of mod then there is the option of multiplayer!
Okay you guys stop bein sarcastic. I get it. Only reason why I actually asked this was because I don't even know how to explain to my dad what's so awesome about Minecraft so I can get it. Thanks for at least giving me some info about the difference between Minecraft and all of the other mainstream games and stuff. Only reason he said he wouldn't buy it is because of the fact that to me, Minecraft is kinda a thing to mess around with and figure out. I think he took it the wrong way though.

What next, go on the Call of Duty forums and ask if Call of Duty is worth it?
I actually remember seeing so COD forum before, one thread read- "REMOVE SNIPING IT IS GAY AND OVERPOWERED."
