Firstly, this post is not made to offend, or make fun of vegetarians in any way whatsoever.
But I was curious, if a vegetarian is playing Minecraft, are they also vegetarian in game? Do they live on bread and apples? Are there any vegetarian Minecraft players that can answer this for me?
Thanks
Obliv.
Yea, I do :3 I'd rather have chickens clucking around and laying eggs than to eat them. I like the moo-ing cows, and being able to milk them, and I shear sheep whenever possible, instead of the alternate rout.
I only really eat meat IRL, but usually i eat melons ingame. Also i was on a server before where certain classes couldn't kill animals, which forced you to be vegetarian.
I eat any food i can get my hands on ingame, also due to the new spawning system with animals i make a farm and reserve wheat, apples and melons incase of cattle famine
I prefer to live on bread and watermelon, but mainly because those kinds of farms are much easier for me to manage than ones with animals :P.
I honestly find it highly self-centered of people to believe that people are stupid or incompetent just because they are following their beliefs. Nobody is stupid if they make their pixel-character treat pixel-cows the way they would treat real cows in real life. Someone could find a way to say that vegetarians are cowards, because animals are just a bunch of atoms and nerves that they are just too afraid to kill, but if somebody can't accept that things have more meaning than what is physically there, then... I truly don't know what to say. If there is somebody who cannot recognise emotion or feeling, then I doubt they will ever be moved by or interested in this post or anything I have to say here.

"Victory is like a watermelon. It's hard to spell and it tastes good."
Well I am not a vegetarian but I eat mostly bread/non-meat in most games as I like to try and keep as many animals as possible alive (unless they get in my way).
However that does not mean that I would not kill the animals in-game or irl if the need arose. (lived on a farm a while ago so I know what to expect)
That explains why the religious guy wont eat a cow in game lol
BURN
On topic: I'm a vegetarian and i don't avoid killing stuff at all. I actually have quite a fun time torturing animals haha (i just realized how messed up that is). However, i find it to be a nice little challenge to try and live without meat. I even tried making a series out of it, didn't work too well though (my computer's a *****).

-a simple "tank you" means a lot more than you might think...
No. I've eaten only rice since I was 4 (eating disorder ftl), but this game is about surviving, and I think I wouldn't last a second in the wilderness if I tried to make a rice farm, since I would starve before the rice was able to be cooked.
Are you a hindu or buddhist? Because I only know that in hinduism, cows are counted as sacred animals and should be protected. But buddhists are vegetarians (I've been a buddhist for 5 years).
Off-Topic: I feel like a bad Buddhist now for eating meat IRL. Not too bad though since I'm not the one killing the animals.
On-Topic: A lot of people do things in video games they don't normally do in real life since they know it's just a game. Kind of adds to the appeal that you can experience something that you wouldn't normally. I'm pretty sure I will never parkour and kill random Templars. Past life maybe.

So, you do somewhat avoid eating meat in game!?
Yes, I do, somewhat. But not to the point of reality. In reality I wouldn't be eating pork.

Unfortunately, some do.
But yeah, this would be taking it to the extreme, wouldn't it?

Gaming, history, science and technology enthusiast. Don't mind my cynicism.
