Okay, I was watching a yogscast video (i forget which one) and it had a lever you pull to push pigs though a tube into a glass box, then the 2nd lever started a fire to kill then and drop "cooked" meat out of a bottom hole of the machine.
I'm not sure how this was pulled off or where al lthe pigs came from or how it cooked them with fire then turned off before they died to get cooked pork chops.....but could someone help me figure this one out? (or maybe go as far to build it and put the map up for downlaod or make a video on how to do so?)
I would really like to make one of these machines just no clue how
note: this one used fire, turned off on its own right before the pig died so the cooked meat was not wasted as well.
I'm not sure whether or not this should go in the Redstone Forum.
On-topic, I think water channels push the pigs with the first lever. The second lever could fire a Fire Charge from a dispenser. After this, Pistons/Sticky Pistons at the corners automatically retract after a period of time, revealing water source blocks. The water currents send the cooked meat exactly into the hole in the middle(may take a while for it to work perfectly), where more currents lead back to a collection area.
I don't know if this is his design you described or not. I was just thinking how this could be done from an engineer's perspective with the certain qualifications applied. My design I just thought of uses fire, burns pigs, and semi-automatically collects Cooked Porkchops. Hey, now that I thought of that, I want to test it out!
They use a load of Mods in their Shadow of Israphel series. Remember the magically appearing bridges? So I wouldn't be surprised if they used a Mod to form fire. But the rest of it is rather simple if you look at it.
+ Pigs can now be spawned with Eggs; whether Eggs were implemented then I cannot remember, but if not then a simple spawner would suffice their needs.
+ Pigs can fit into 1 block gaps, therefore pistons pushing pigs along as they did would be a suitable method. How they did this I am unsure, but I'm suspecting a method similar to the Elevators popping up around the place using two pistons to move one-another. [Research it!]
+ The moving of the cooked pork was done by water as seen in the Episode. So retraction of pistons to release water seems the most appropriate.
+ It could have been fluke! Remember they do their series as a laugh! So things may be set-up; the pigs from the spawn may have never reached the cooker, the cooked pork may have never reached Xephos/Honeydew, they may have a dispenser into water to eject cooked pork!
Apart from that I have no idea, it may be worth checking the Yogscast forums! Available here: https://yogscast.com/forum.php
Ok when this video was out there was no eggs.
Also this seemed to be a work of redstone and pistons not a mod -.- (which machines they dont use mods) the bridge if im thinking ofthe correct one was redstone / block making machine which anyone can make without mods
Also i doubt its a fluke as it was used over 3 times in the episode and worked every time ._.
Anyway if someone would liike to make some video of how to make one thats like the yogscast one i would like that :s
You could have them drop through 1 block of lava (Suspended by signs) to their deaths.
But I'm pretty sure the Yogscast had to use mods to make the one they did
(You can't turn fire on/ off)
It had nothing to do with lava (want to build one like theres)
Also ive seen something simlair to this without mods so again i dont think its a mod
however other videos on this pig cooker had switched all over the place (not very good design) however still did what the video showed =o so it cant be a mod :s
I could think of a few ways to make this work, but the main problem is fire has to be placed on blocks.
Because it has to be placed on blocks, it would significantly lower the amount of cooked pork you receive. Most would be burned by the fire.
I think it COULD work by having water come at a certain time. Or pistons moving the blocks. But that would put the fire out and the only way to start it would be manually.
While charged shot can automatically light fires, it can only be fired in a straight line and I don't think a wick system would be very reliable (But I thought of a few ways it might be possible with pistons pushing blocks)
Overall, it would be way too complex, since the simple design I said would be more efficient and have a better chance of getting more pork
Here we are. I hunted one down! It's no where near the same as the Yogscast but functions in the same way; so if you are looking for one this should be your start point. This may be how the Yogscast managed to get that fire in the room as well.
Im trying to get one very like the yogscast one though, it looked as neat and clean and levlers where not everywhere :s im not that terribly good at redstone soo i wouldnt know where to go with this

This design has the problem I was talking about. The yield of cooked pork you get would be a lot lower since the fire would consume some of the cooked pork.
My guess, if yogscast made it legit, it follows some principles from this. On the sides of the furnace must have edges with ladders and the pigs that get cooked must be trying to escape the fire and running toward the edge, dropping their pork in the water when they die
Here we are. Someone actually managed to replicate it! Apart from the full floor of fire, as it was a Mod the managed to do that. But it is possible to set the floor on fire if using this Minecrafters methods!
It even includes a tutorial for yourself
Thank you for finding this but i had already seen it, im currently trying to make it more like the yogscast one since to get the bacon you have to walk a bit away from the glass :S im trying to make a more compack one but i will give this one another look over
Take the piston system from this and implement it into your own spawner. This player made a long version of it. Using clever placements of water to direct pigs that are not in the piston system you can easily make it more compact. The redstone can also become more compacted if the system was made smaller. If you need help with compacting the redstone parts then ask in the Redstone section, they usually come up with the answer.
Well the yogcast one only had 2 levers to pull, the video had over 8 i think ._.
but yeah honestly i just need someone to attempt the compact one liek the yogscast had. I'm not that good with pistions let alone machines like this so im jst hoping someone will try this :s

Correct, but every system has that. In the one above it doesn't guarantee 100% cooked pork. But then again nor do a lot of systems made in Minecraft like Mob-Crushers do not always guarantee loot if working with fire/lava!
And this will be the way around it, quite possibly.
If you drop them to their deaths, and have them fall through 1 block of lava they will always be on fire when they die and will drop cooked pork. Since they aren't constantly in the lava

I wanted to try to keep true to the video no lava used :/
Maybe this can help you out. The Ladder to the Chicken Roaster is at X:191 Y:118 Z:669.
Works as follows :
1. Operate switch (often) at the dispensers to fill upper pool with chickens.
2. When they are grown adult, use the lever opposite to the ladder, and flush them until they are all in the lower pool.
3. If you have accumulated enough eggs to provide continuous chicken dispensing, use the Lever at the ladders side.
What Nr. 3 does (dismantle it to see how it works): There are two waterstreams below the chicken pools. The lower one is the main collector, the upper one leads to two burning Netherrack-blocks. When you operate the lever, the lower waterstream is stopped (and the opening closed, too). At the same time, the chickens from the lower pool get flushed into the upper stream, leading to the Netherrack. There they start to burn and escape into the (now dry and enclosed) lower stream. There they die. After operating the lever again, the cooked chicken are flushed out by the now flowing lower stream.
Oh, directly besides the KFC is the Beefgrill, it should be pretty much what you want But it operates the same way, let them fall into a dry area where you can flush out the Beef/Grilled Pork etc. Also it uses only one lever
P.S: The Cow Grill works like this :
1. Breed all cows in the same big room.
2. Operating the Lever(top floor) flushes roughly half of them down to the grill, at the same time the waterstream under the Grill is stopped.
3. Operating the lever again (give it some time) stops the upper stream and starts the lower again.
All items are flushed to "Da Collector" in the great sandcastle. Its the room with lots of chests.

edit1:
its at the 7:08 point
Make a video?
edit: I found the video
the pig cooker is at the 7:08
I'm attempting to figure out how this was made
what does this have to do with a 'mod' or a mod for a game if thats what you meant?
