Games are alot like movies, or books. Its just theyre still new compared to those entertainment mediums. You see, movies and books come out everyday that are just like other movies and books. But no one sues or complains. Theyre not even considered rip-offs anymore. Its normal. Im thinking soon the gaming industry is going to change. Video game development is not restricted to big name brand companies anymore, and so we will be seeing games that are simillar and often time loosely based on others.
Looks stupid to me. They wanted to have guns but then had to try and make realistic hands and a gun in an otherwise entirely blocky world. Just looks tacky. Plus I'm not a fan of guns. I'll stick to swords and shovels.
I saw that game a couple of days ago on youtube when I was watching the yogscast. I went to their website to see if I could see how much simularity it has to Minecraft, and you have to pay for the game. So not only is it a minecraft rip-off, their making money off of it.
... seriously? Just because it is blocky it is a clone? Then Minecraft is a clone, Infiniminer and lego were blocky too. And so is BLOCKLAND. And ROBLOX.
"Clone" is a gaming industry term to refer to a game which is made to be like some other game. It doesn't mean the games will be exactly alike.
And yes, Minecraft started out as an Infiniminer clone. However since it stopped using the Infiniminer terrain gen, and is not focused on competitive mining at all, it's really moved passed the point where "clone" is an accurate term.
