I mess around with MCP, doing crazy stuff with the generation; for example, I once made a single cave system that was about 2 km across, and lagged the internal server so badly I could outwalk the terrain generation (not chunk render errors, chunks didn't even load); it looked like a nuclear bomb was set off, just a big lava ocean in the middle few hundred blocks and little bits of random floating blocks for the next few hundred out. Another time I made it so that caves replaced blocks with stone instead of air just to see how high they went above ground level, creating lots of weird stone formations everywhere. Otherwise, I just try out new (practical) ideas.
I start making structures then remember that I suck at building original structures. After using all my TNT on destroying said structures I start making large lava and water channels and automatic smelters to pass time. When all else fails I light everything on fire and start new again lol
I dont generally mod unless I'm playing something like FTB. But if I am bored in vanilla I dont destroy any of my world I start a new project or try make something that I already have more efficient. Redstone has endless possibilities and what you can build also has endless possibilities. I do get bored sometimes and have no motivation. Then I simply play something else or do something else
A fun challenge is to play the default superflat world... on hardcore! Troll some villages or run through the monsters at night...
Another fun thing is to go into a world (preferably superflat), spawn a bunch of ghasts everywhere! Then, switch to survival, and see how long you can last and how many you can kill!
I start a new creative world, and blow it up with hundreds of TNT blocks. One time I even went into McEdit to place about a million TNT blocks, but it crashed the game.
A lot of what I do is use the superflat modes on occasion. It gets hard sometimes but I feel that makes it a lot more challenging to play and keeps me fairly interested in it.
I hardly ever touch my singleplayer world anymore, since there is no challenge.
Exploring doesn't even make sense anymore,so,i am waiting for new challenges from mojang.
Meanwhile,i'm doing a lot of pvp,minigames.
I recently started to try out a lot of resource packs, custom maps, and exploring the 620+ gb wide map of 2b2t (wich is the purest survival experience minecraft has to offer).
Depends on how far I've built my house. If I've made a large, up to my standards house? I might get bored, so I set up defenses and a few zombie / mob spawners.
If I get really bored, I'll just go play another game.
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
