I bought it after building some stuff in creative mode. I started survival clicked a tree, Steve punched it. I held the button, he broke it. After I noticed I gathered some stuff and it didn't show up on my bar, I started to search for an inventory. I noticed the slots to the right and left of my picture and thought, "Hmmm, what to fill it with...."
I didn't find out what those are used for, so I searched for a wiki. This was the point where I learned to leave the game via Esc and not "Inventory".... While looking up what to use those slots in the inventory for, I got blown up by something ..... After Nightfall I then found out why people are supposed to stay in bed at night, or at least indoors.... I ferosciously fought my way through the night, killing stuff I barely could see with a flower. I was killed at sunset by two burning skeletons ( so close ...).
After that first night, I built a shelter. Nothing special. Second night I spent listening to spiders and Zombies.
Somewhat dizzy from that experience, I went out to enlargen my shelter and noticed a sound like a burning fuse and expected to see a walking cartoon bomb ... The thing I saw after turning around pretty much fit that description, although it was slightly different of course .....:laugh.gif: It didn't kill me, but I was pretty shocked how much damage it did to me and my nice Hobbit-cave(Dirthut).
P.S: Two or three days after that I got my first flint and steel... I disliked the heavy wood at my front door soooo..... This was in 1.3 i think, so I never played this map again, it was simply too much work to put an end to this hellfire of doom :laugh.gif:
LOL, when I first started playing Minecraft, I had no idea what I was doing. Then I saw a Creeper and walked toward it...well, you can guess how that turned out.
Now I mostly play in Creative Mode, and I'm still learning the ropes.
MAN!!! I WAS A BLOODY N00B, i dont remember very well, but in my first world (Beta 1.7.3) i dug a hole in dah hill ok, one day i returned from dah mine and the idiot writing this post now left the door open, i looked behind and saw that green thing turning to my direction and blowing up half of my hole, which i repaired with cobble, then a few days later, alredy with a diamond sword, i left home in my boat, when i returned that thing with a bow killed me twice and i lost a diamond sword :sad.gif:
Then i found gold and made a sword, thinking i would kick ass with it, and i falled in lava, before deleting that world which is something i regret now :sad.gif:

I joined about version beta 1.6.6 about the time with the beta 1.7 update. Back then, i sucked very badly at minecraft and like many people, i didn't know to hold that right click button. Another thing, i only knew how to make a wooden pickaxe and thought why was the pickaxe was so slow on wood and dirt. lol. Now, I'm pretty good at minecraft, i'd rate my self on a scale from 1 out of 100, a 87 out of 100, which isn't FSP Pro, but OK.
I didn't know how to craft a pickaxe and I fell in a abyss but got saved by water, and I mined my way up and out with a stick. Fail. :dry.gif:

This signature has absolutely no point at all. And then it has a point to inform you that it has no point, but it has no point because it really doesn't have a point, but it has a point because it tells you it has no point... and ah, screw this.
I was playing at a friends house while I was spending the night, and I spent hours after everyone else had gone to bed hollowing out a mountain to be my lair, then a creeper spawned in it while I was out gathering wood because I hadn't lit it up enough, it greeted me at the front door and blew the entire staircase off of the front of my house. been terrified of creepers since that day
Alpha 1.1.0 FTW! Anyway, I'd only just worked out farming by the BOO! Update (31/10/10). I figured out how to make a pickaxe five (MC) days into my new world, which was a snow one :biggrin.gif:.

I was a big noob back then.. All the recipes I know were the basic ones like torches and furnaces.. etc but not those that include redstone, I never found one of those at that time. It was so dark and it was on normal difficulty... I heard something outside my house(Wooden Plank house FTW), Then, I grabbed all my torches at my room because I didnt have enough torches to walk to the hallway(Yes I had one).. So my room was dark, No mobs outside.. Then I headed back to my room.. I heard something hissing from the room and when I placed my torch.. I saw a hole on the roof, I don't know how I got that one, It must have been a mistake.. The hissing gets louder and louder.. When I checked the door again.. Nothing.. But when I turned back.. :blink.gif: A CREEPER! SSSSSSSBOOOM! :dry.gif: All that was left was the bed. :sad.gif:
When i started to play the first time, i punched some trees, made a wooden pickaxe and started to collect more wood. Then it became night-time and i built a little house and blocked myself inside there. Then i started a new game where i built a dirt-house on top of a mountain. Then i heard a zombie in my little mine and played on peaceful. I didn't switch over to easy mode after some hours playing and building ^^, I almost allways play on survival, 'cause thats the funniest game mod.
Now i play on Normal and know what to do when i start and when it becomes night-time. I can build a wodden house in 3 minutes after i start the new save, and i get charcoal from trees. And i've never got killed before by any of the mobs
After the second time I played I made a plank house with a door. I knew that you had to right click the door to open it, so at night I left click my door (don't ask me, it was my stupidity) and it broke in to an item, got the item, but instead of putting it back I accidently threw it out the window (Stupidity strikes again!) Instead of placing blocks to the entrance, or building a new door like a genuise, I wait for about 20 seconds and I decide to run outside and fight off the monsters that was there and get the door. I failed and died, I respawned at the starting place, and I got shot by something. I ask my friend what it was. He says it was a so I ran away to a river. Then I saw a creeper thinking it was a zombie I attacked it with my fist, good news! I killed it so I was happy! But the skeleton that shot me came and killed me. I got so mad I deleted the place and made a new world. The next day (NOT MINECRAFT DAYS) my friend told me that there is a monster called a creeper and it looks like and I say to him "I'll try to dodge them, not knowing that I killed one.
My next world I created was at first failed but I got better at that place. I was still angry from the last world that i decide to live on a tree where i'll be harmless. I climbed up a mountain and found a good tree to be on so I got on it and destroyed the block that i last got on so I stayed there until night fell. when it turned day I was happy I survived, so I wait another day, and I looked around I saw a but i thought it was a zombie (like last time) but this time my friend saw it and said it was the monster that will blow up your house, so I watched it for a long time. It just stood there staring at me, stalking me. Then it found a way to get up (I thought it did) so I ran alway. I decide to build a cave house and I lived for a lonnnnnggg time. One day (MINECRAFT DAY) I look outside and saw a spider. (This was my expresion :blink.gif:) I punched it and it attacked me, so I punched it some more, soon killing it. I go outside and look up a mountain and saw a ghost like thing (I still don't know what it was) so I thought it was a ghast. It wasn't a ghast, because ghasts don't live in the overworld. Later on I decide to go mining some iron, I take my bed and went somewhere far and I started mining. Good news is I found some iron, bad news is I got killed by a skeleton and realized that I destroyed my bed and respawned by that same stupid tree I was on at first. Good times good times.
Back in my days we didn't have these fancy shmancy "Minecraft" and "computers"! We only had LEGOS, and how did we use them? Put them in front of someone's door and let them step on them *chuckle* good times.
I hated it. I bought the game after watching Deadmau5 play it, and I wandered around until it was night, punched zombies with flowers, and died a lot. I couldn't figure out how to break blocks either. It was awful.
When I Started playing I watched a guide on how to make my first shelter in Minecraft. I watched the video and when into the game and tried to punch a tree by spamming click and I kept yelling at myself WHAT THE HELL WHY WONT THIS TREE BREAK so then I watched the video over and tried spam clicking over and over and again. Then I rage quited for like a week, came back and realized I was supposed to hold down the click button. I felt like a retard after that :dry.gif:
Haha, that happened with me too.
At first, I actually googled "how to get minecraft for free" and didn't know that I was getting a pirated version. When I found that out, I uninstalled it and bought the actual version. :unsure.gif:
My first house was made of dirt. Then I went outside after my first night and got blown up by a creeper.
I'll be honest I either played creative from now on or play survival with Single Player Command. I did play hardcore and made a hardcore save. Until I downloaded something to minecraft and forgot to backup everything :tongue.gif: so everything went black screen (I know why, it's because I forgot to delete META-INF folder P.S. I know I'm stupid) :dry.gif: so I freaked out for 5 seconds then deleted everything, but I'm ok. :smile.gif:

when first time play minecraft, i was on creative mode. so i just checked my inventory first hen start to make a house. i just like a 5 years old kid playing a game.
A good thing it was I had heard of it from my friends, and saw my brother playing it before I got it as well, or else I would've been just like you, not knowing how to destroy blocks.
Anyways, when I just started I was afraid at night and cowered all the time in my house because I didn't know peaceful mode existed :tongue.gif:

when i first started, i was actually scared. I watched a couple gameplay videos before i got it and it looked like a blocky horror game when it was night time. So i bought it because i was waiting so long for a game that let you survive any way you want. (or do anything you want for that matter)
The idea of surviving in a world full of monsters the type of thing i think is most interesting about games. Minecraft was that game.
Then when i first got it, it felt like an adventure. Like the world was mine to explore and make whatever i want. But i was totally confused, i refused to look at tutorial videos because i didn't want to spoil the fun of creating and exploring. So i wandered around looking for the perfect piece of land. When i found a good small mountain, i had to hide for the first couple of nights because i couldn't think of anyways to keep myself safe since there were so many options. The wide variety of survival strategies was sort of intimidating to me but i slowly got used to it.
That's an extremely ignorant to say...
