no what i am actually saying is when the arguments themselves become 'Boring' or 'repetitive' though the actual target itself has in fact changed or there is substantial proof of said change, the argument becomes moot.
I have read too many "why don't they add this/that" posts or "where is this we asked for in 1.6 or Indev? That is WHY i say it is alot like the image. Give me a little credit. It isn't for the whole. A number of badgers already know who they are....
Going on:
I read this whole topic many times and there are a great many who DO this very thing. Instead of looking through and seeing what HAS occurred, they take a stance without base. THAT is bad form.
Every day is development for Minecraft. I have been in Minecraft so long it is pathetic. Seeing each change, each development beginning to GIVE what we beg for and some we didn't see coming, is why i keep coming back. I was a straight survival guy until very recently when i came to the forums here instead of just keeping up with the development.
Look at the new technical Biomes, They are transitions that are a good starting point and should be bordering these new and old biomes. Then they added amplified setting to really go insane. YES some of the heights are forced, like with mountain areas, and if they continue to be different make-ups like i find in the latest snapshots, I'm fine with some of the lower heights being forced. Every world i have made in the recent snapshots are worth exploring, especially when the new structures also are added.
Another thing is the players jumping on those who HAVEN'T seen the real generation with variety. give them credit and show them examples, not troll the old "I'm Right" flag till you pass out. Simple people skills.
The ugliest ones were Tundra (ok, ok, Ice Plains) -> Jungle and Taiga -> Jungle transitions. I haven't seen them in 13w36a+ yet, and jungles themselves are very rare, so if it does happen, it is rare. That is ok, rare weird things add variety and don't hurt anyone, since you can always find another place.
Now that biome placement will be more sensible in the 1.7 update, odd transitions will hopefully be novelty. "Wow, a Jungle bordering a Tundra! What a rare occurrence." As opposed to how they were before. "Yuck, another Jungle bordering a Tundra! Well this place just lost its appeal."
(In response to "What's your plan? Are you going to try to convince all of us that we shouldn't care?")
Well getting everybody to stop caring is ideal, if impossible, so there's the reason I said yes to that.
How do you know it's outdated if you haven't read the recent pages? I think this topic is very up to date.
I'm working on it. I said that because the only change I saw in the OP in response to 1.7 is, "1.7 might have terrain features." Gee thanks OP, none of us knew that.
And personally, I have accepted the possibility of being ignored, but we're only 2 snapshots into 1.7, and things can still be improved! Why should we give up now?
Good! That's a step in the right direction! Yes things may be improved, but at this point the devs might have all the features they want to put in planned, just not put in yet. Certainly major new things could show up, but it's less likely to happen now then it is when the update is still in early planning stages.
Once again, several posts are missing. Can the moderator doing this please PM me why?
If you want our silly argument to end, that's completely understandable.
On topic, I found this terrain in last weeks snapshot:
I absolutely love how that Plains Biome made a small clearing in the forest. I hope Mojang intentionally coded Plains Biomes to generate that small occasionally. I also like the transition from normal forest to roofed forest, but not all the transitions are as excellent as this one.
I heard that Mojang was making technical biomes for biome transitions, but i haven't seen any sources. Can someone please confirm this?
On topic. I kinda hope that small plains biomes are a lucky accident, rather than an intentional construction.
How come? I understand that random variation is better than forced variation, but i don't want this to be the last small clearing I ever see.
Better yet though, would be plains that can generate at any size as long as it's not too big. (I don't know if that's how they generate already, if it is, that would explain my small clearing.)

That looks great. I think that even if nothing else transitions, the smoother transitioning of grass color alone would really help with biome transitioning in general.
One of the biggest problems which I have, and still do have, with this generator is that rivers make everything so cookie cutter. Why does nearly every biome transition need to be cut in half by a river? How about on rare occasions you see a huge 30 block wide river crossing through the middle of multiple biomes? It makes the world feel so unrealistic when everything is nicely divided into sections. Its like I am playing Civ and everything is in its own little shape.
That could be done on purpose in order to prevent some awkward biome transitions. i.e., A smooth transition from plains to forest could be achieved by making the plain's grass color phase gradually into the forest's grass color, but you can't really do that with desert (grass interspersed with sand isn't very visually appealing). A body of water however, seems more okay between a plain and a desert because one could think to themselves, "Oh, across the river is a whole different climate zone. Seems legit." Of course, this method using rivers doesn't really make any sense if it were used to divide biomes with similar climates, like the aforementioned forest and plains. A river with the same biome type on both sides is fine, but it does seem out of place to constantly see rivers dividing up all of the different biome types.
i will explain better the old beaches is very similar to realistic beaches and the new beaches is very steep seems to be choking the mountains //i.imgur.com/DmhoU4i.png" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" /> understand
Jeb has made the biomes boring, but with a good reason. I'm guessing he thought he would get rid of the unrealistic terrain and then later. Would add more interesting features that are more controlled and don't look like a chunk load fail. I usually play modpack s so the terrain is much better.
He is making a update to make the biomes more interesting; adding a new type of dirt and different biomes.
Also the world seems quite empty, he needs to add fish in the sea, canals in the desert, crabs on the beach, squirrels in the forest and bunnies in the meadows ^.^
Anyone else agree :L
I really need to proofread my posts :L
You realize the current terrain is less realistic than the old terrain, right? Also, new type of dirt? Not impressed. New mobs aren't going to change the fact that the current terrain lacks variety. I absolutely despise bats and hate their noise as well as the fact that they take up memory. Bunnies in the meadows and crabs? Lets leave that stuff to the mods since you obviously have no problem playing with them(darn computer doesn't like Minecraft :( ).

yay exactly but too other thing that take up memory is more biomes minecraft dont need more biomes need more variety in the biomes like a beta worlds

I believe that trophe belongs to notch my dear friend.
Also your solution is totaly mainstreamed and won't help at all
Will adding new and more realistic biomes fix the older boring ones? No.
Will adding new types of dirt fix the crappy grass transitions? No.
Will adding new pointless mobs make the game more challenging, or make the game more adveturous? No.
Does ExtrabiomesXL, Biome O' Plenty, or Nature Overhual fix terrain problems? No.
Should Mods be the solution? No.
Should We be using NBXLite or Terrain Fix for the rest of MC's Life because Mojang is too lazy to actually fix the terrain for themselves? No.
Should we use older versions of MC for the solution? No.

Anyone tested it yet? Any better terrain changes? C:

Nope, just crappy random shaders you get from clicking Super Secrate Settings...

no, he did not, not in the context you are implying.
know what you're talking about before you start kissing butt please
They can be nice aesthetically. With Gravel beaches, it's a lot of fast, easy gravel that you don't have to risk suffocation to get to.
