You know, that is exactly the reason you need to provide sources. If you're discussing with someone, wanting to prove them wrong but lacking in sources to actually back up your statements, you're not gonna prove that person wrong because all you're saying might very well be speculation and gibberish from your side. And no, that person is not gonna be wanting to find those sources by himself.
This isn't wikipedia, guy. The tweets happened, and I have absolutely no motivation to prove it to you.

I never said it was necessarily bad for the mod or map.
That's not much in the way of a response. I will say that the whole point of the Yogscast is that they're making these videos, but are bad at video games in general. It's a theme that goes all the way back to their first WoW videos.

I agree that this should never have been a public matter, but disagree entirely that they should apologise. They didn't break any laws, and they did attempt censor their live panel, just not the videos.
Offence is something that is blown entirely out of proportion these days, if you are offended, so what? Be offended, don't expect other people to be offended for you.
I see where you're coming from. Parents seem to be the main instigator here, and I know how sensitive parents can get when it comes to kids. That's why I said that the Yogscast should either keep quiet or apologize. Attempting to defend themselves will just make this worse.
I have a lot of respect for Notch as a developer. He had a good nice ideas and a wide creativity. But it doesn't make him a role model in everything.
He certainly has qualities but I would be disappointed if he were mad at Yogcast. Those guys brought him a lot of people and I bet it is because of their videos that Notch decided to invite them, with their style and their way of presenting a video.
It reminds me Johnny Depp. When Disney asked Depp to be the pirate in "Pirate of the Caribbean", Depp wanted to act as he did. But Disney wanted something more traditional. And Depp said to Disney that if they wanted him to play the role, it would be done the way he wants. Or they would have to choose someone else.
Yogcast at Minecon, it's quite the same: you invite and ask them to present videos, you can expect that they are going to present the way they are used to presenting their video.
And finally, don't tell me that kids heard these f-bombs for the first time in their life... they use them everyday. The only people who could be annoyed by that would be the parents.
p.s.
And God dammit, this forum is host bu curse, what else did you expect? :-)
Notch is obligated to reprimand the Yogscast. However, the manner in which he did so was unprofessional and needlessly ambiguous. Yes, Simon and Lewis should have been more careful. However, if Notch carries a grudge about something so incredibly trivial, I would lose a lot of respect for him. This should go no further than the Yogscast's short apology.
The parents who are overreacting to this are clearly unaware that their kids are exposed to this kind of thing from the Yogscast AND Notch on a daily basis. Notch is covering his ass.
Most of you are silly.
Notch confirmed it was the Yogscast.
Their fault, not Notchs'.
Rules were not needed to be set.
They had no need to curse infront of children. Notch made this convention, and if anything bad happens it reflects on him. I've seen Notch curse before, so it isn't his personal opinion.
The Yogscast are nothing special anyway, I don't see all the hype.
He used masturbation jokes in our videos, but then criticises us for using old footage with swearing in, when we have limited resources to edit the footage in Vegas, and also neither Mojang nor IGN gave us any guidelines as to what we were and weren't allowed to do - the people in the panel and on the livestream chose to come and see us - so you'd think they'd know swearing is likely.
We did about six hours of signings and photos in general - no kid or parent complained to us about swearing.
I won't say more as Lewis' v-log will expose everything in wonderfully high definitioned rage, so give us a few days to get our thoughts in order.
The only entertaining thing I've seen Yoggcast do was Diggy Diggy. Otherwise, both parties are really at blame here. Notch should've known what these guys would do, they curse often in their videos and it's not surprising. Yoggcast should've also kept an appropriate behavior, nervous or not. If it was that much pressure, they shouldn't have done it.

Your opinion on the Yogscast is completely irrelevant. They're the largest 3rd party draw for Mojang, specifically Minecraft.
And let's be real here, kids themselves are highly unlikely to complain about curse words... It was their parents. We aren't protecting the children, we're protecting their parents. That really pisses me off.
Also bear in mind that when Notch incorporated Mojang, he had to yield a huge amount of control to the company's governing chairholders. Put bluntly, Mojang =/= Notch, not anymore. Resist the urge to talk about the convention as if it were Notch-fest 2011.

While they are right in some regards (they weren't given any guidelines for content), I don't understand why they're just playing defensive instantly. They could have stopped a whole lot of drama just with a few words: "We didn't realize that, and we're sorry, but you should have established content guidelines for us." They worked under the assumption, likely, that everything in their videos was OK because Notch made no statement against their video content. This is not an entirely illogical conclusion to jump to, heh. There was the chance that both sides could have come to an agreement, but that was dependent on yogcast playing the right card.
Nothing is convincing me that they played the right card yet.

Here is the source, took me 1 second in google.
Though inviting Yogscast would mean that he should have increased age limit to enter the con.
Or people who can't speak English. (There are people who still can't speak English, right?)

Right, but bear in mind that Simon and Lewis don't moderate their own forums.

I would. You want to make sure your response is appropriate, and the community isn't instantly split.
Smart move.
