I like it in that it's a bit less startling when you get hurt out of nowhere, but I do agree that it's a tad weak at times. Might need a bit of work. Why not make the falling damage sound play a simple thud when you only fall a few meters?
I can live with this sound, (I like the old one more though), but the sound that I really hope they change is the door opening and closing. My ears hurt so bad that I just leave it open.
As far as the sounds is concerned It's a complete fail ...Damn big fat f*ck of a notch had to change everything at the last second ...DID ANYONE ever whine at the sound effects before ?? i've been almost everywhere and i've never seen anyone whine about that ???
Anyway I really think he's a moron some time to make such imbecile decisions like that at the last minute. That and the impenetrable darkness at the bedrock floor now that's freakin dumb.
Anyway still like the game enough to replace ALL the sounds to the original ones ...f*ck the new ones they sound too dumb/innapropriate.

Old sound was much more realistic, or the game could even alternate between the sounds.
The sound is perfect for long falls but when being attacked by a mob, lava damage etc. The old "ouch" sound should be used. Even better, when Steve is on fire from lava have him scream until he gets put out or dies :smile.gif:

Doors, last I checked, make "HNNNG", not "WHUMP" noises.
Those noises were actually done right in 1.0.

I understand bows in real life, bows dont go "TWAAAANGGGG" but the y dong give off little popping noises and what door goes "hnng"? Have you even ever touched a door?

I have never heard doors that make loud clicks when opened, like they did before the sound change.
