GET RID OF THOSE SCARY CAVE SOUNDS!
I don't really know what this is, it is sort of a mod, but this does not modify the minecraft.jar.
This should work with all Minecraft versions.

I could not find the best spot to put this post, so I just put it in discussion. I could not put it in the mods section, because it does not modify the minecraft.jar. :sad.gif:
This mod thing works by replacing the sound files with blank sound files, so you hear nothing! And you don't have to turn off sound, and not hear anything! At first I tried to delete the ogg files, but Minecraft just made them again. So I made blank files.

No, that would turn off ALL sounds, and I like those sounds, I just don't like the cave sounds.

I don't know, just, annoying, loud, scary noises, you might disagree, but some just don't like those sounds, cause I am getting downloads.

or you could open the resources folder and delete the cave sounds, I'm sorry but I have rendered this "mod" useless.

you people should search for tutorials, just make a text file called: DO NOT UPDATE and put it in there and it "will not update"

I don't find any of the hostile mob sounds scary in any way. They are more like the silly stuff you get in a B-movie.

But there are specific mob sounds (like the ghasts) that I find horribly annoying.

I do wish there was a mod that allowed you to change (not remove) the mob sounds.

This will ONLY get rid of the loud cave sounds. Not mobs sounds, I like mob sounds.

I freak out when i hear spider.. It's so scary!

You could replace the sound files with a better sound, however, these files would need to be in the *.ogg format

I hate , but i dont think removing them is a good idea.

If we removed everything that scare us or make it harder then... we will have to remove lava , creepers , enderman , skeletons , tnt , etc.

Or you could just delete the files manually...

I find the sounds kind of funny, like the caves are trying to be scary, but it fails to scare me!

I love the ambient cave noises. In my opinion, they really add to the 'feeling' of the caves, as does the new fog at lower levels.
