People There will NOT be a 1.10..... there will be a 2.0 you don't do double digits after the first point.... it goes 0.1 - 0.9 then 1.0 - 1.9 and so on with the some times 1.8.1 - 1.8.10000000- and on... plz stop saying 1.10 and just say 2.0
2.0 is the full release of minecraft. so if you want to say 2.0 then people will think you are referring to the full release of minecraft, even has been confirmed by notch a few months back so it will be 1.10

I believe, sir, that you are mistaken as well. It will go from Minecraft Beta 1.10 to Minecraft 1.0. I think.
No seriously. It is 2.0 Alright. Otherwise he will have to call it 1.9.# . In terms of significant digits, any math, Any version numbering system, or just common freaking sense, 1.10 == 1.1 which was a LONG time back.
Notch should change it to 2.0 . IT IS ANNOYING ME.

Version numbers do not go up the same way as decimals normally do. Besides, does it really matter? It's just numbers that mean something meaning we get something new.
Talk to Notch and the rest of Mojang if it really bothers you.

Wrong! there was alpha B4 Beta and in Alpha it went above 2.0 ten beta came out and he Jumped back to 1.0 again soo when the Full game comes out we will jump back to 1.0 and it will be called Minecraft 1.0 not Minecraft Beta 2.0
Actually, as far as I've always understood it, you can have a 1.10
The key always appeared to be the fact that most denominations such as that went by a (Version #).(Patch #).(Miscellaneous Update #) Now, I could always be wrong, seeing as I'm not exactly a game designer or developer, but there seems to be no legitimate reason that you couldn't have 1.10 as a valid patch number. After all, Version 1, patch 1, update 1 is not written as 1.11, it's written as 1.1.1 instead. Now, if someone had some sort of source that said so, that would change things. Or if someone was actually a game dev, of course :biggrin.gif:
Also, just FYI, I know for a fact that patch numbering doesn't go on standard math decimals. I'm not sure how it works, but it doesn't work the same as your everyday household decimal system. Personally, I trust Notch (who is a game dev).
But the main point is: who cares? Either we'll have a patch 1.10, or we'll have a patch 2.0 No matter what it's called, it doesn't particularly matter. All I care about is what is in the patch.

Now, you may have a point there. I would think it would make sense to revert the numbering with the official release, if for no more reason than plain simplicity.
keep minecraft classic alive
It's 1.10.
As in 1 point 10
Stop thinking in terms of math people.

yeah we have even used 1.10 in math class for assignments

Nope. He is releasing Beta 1.9. Then Beta 2.0. Then 1.0.
