good graphics, do not a game make. you could make some game with super high quality graphics, and yet, it could still just be a ball rolling on the ground with no objectives. on the other hand, you could make a game with crappy graphics, but is full of content and fun to play.
thats like dissing tetis or snake because "the graphics are bad." big ****ing deal.

Give me an internet, or Chuck Norris will kill you!!!
There will always be people who don't agree with your opinion, and that's fine. Then there are the people who would love to spend their whole lives explaining every last detail why your opinion is inferior to theirs and that anyone who agrees with you is an idiot.
I tend to ignore those people, and do what I enjoy. Minecraft has introduced me to many people from all over the world. Some of them have become really good friends, others not so much. If your friends think that MInecraft is crap and that the Wii is the best system out there, then that is their opinion. The best you can do is to offer them the chance to try Minecraft and see what it's like. If they do end up liking it, then great, but if not, at least you tried.
Maybe you can try playing some of their games...who knows, maybe you'll find something that brings your group of friends closer!
Good luck, and don't ever try to force your interests or opinions on people. That never works :smile.gif:
Geez, it's like this one user, CoDFansUnite that was spamming The Yogscast's Shadow of Israphel last night. Saying all Minecraft players are "Gay Teenagers that can't afford a real console"
-I am a teen, so I can't argue that...
-I am a male that likes women, so I'm not gay. (I hate it when people use gay as an insult, though)
-I have a PS2, an X-Box360, AND a Nintendo DS, I just happen to also enjoy Minecraft. (Also it's slowing starting to come to consoles, so...)
He also claimed Call of Duty was a million times better.
Which made me Face Palm, because you can't compare a first person shooter game about war to an albeit first person Action/Platformer about Mining. You could argue about graphics, but that just shows how young, and spoiled you are.
So you can't really compare them at all. And if you argue about graphics, that is in my opinion a really bad choice.
Back when gaming first came out, they had 2-bit graphics, and low quality sound. AND THEY LIKED IT! Heck, even I, a teenager enjoy a good ol' game of Pac-Man, or some SNES games.
But my point is, if you argue with them, odds are it'll just end badly. (Because odds are they were trolling/being spoiled teenagers)
You just have to do this:
And let them be that way, while you enjoy what they're missing out on.
At least in my opinion(s).
I know. Right? :tongue.gif: I was looking through the comments from Shadow of Israphel,(Great series) and I saw his comment. Then I thought, " Why would you post this on a Minecraft video? Clearly, you're gonna get a lot of hate." I may hire an assassin to kill him. :ph34r.gif:
My brother is literally exactly the same. Any time I'm on Minecraft or mention it he becomes severely patronizing, telling me how stupid the game is because "it's an 8-bit game with ridiculously low graphics and no objective". Someone at my school tried to argue that it's not really a "game" because there's no objective. Excuse me? This is the kid that plays WoW like a maniac. Does WoW have an "objective"? No more than Minecraft does. Both are about survival in a sense, there may be a level cap but they're always coming out with new content, there's no real "end" to the game. It's the same with Minecraft.
I, myself, prefer to play in creative because I enjoy making crazy structures, planning them ahead of time and pulling it off, spending so long on them. It's just like painting (I'm a painter) with a different medium. You put hard work into the creation and by the end of it you're damn proud, and they come along and tell you it's stupid.
maybe you should kill them with a hammer and see if they still think it's stupid.
second i have never seen a hammer in minecraft, other than in mods so tell to come to your house through them in a newly generated world and lock them in the room for an hour. when you come back bring some glue remover because they will be stuck in that chair... maybe a snack to you don't want them starving to death in your house, clean up will be messy.
Ya. Gameplay is the main aspect of the game and its the only thing that matters.
If you wanna waste your money on a game with terrible gameplay and epic graphics
then clearly you do'nt know what entertainment is. Plus why is everyone ranting about COD being "an epic game that can never be beaten". The real gamers play platformers. Not just some game where getting a "headshot" is everything.
So what if Minecraft doesn't make sense? You can level a mountain with a feather, beat a zombie to (re)death with a string, and obsidian is nearly indestructible (in real life, obsidian is extremely sharp, but relatively easy to break).
On a more serious note, if they thing the graphics are bad, CoD hasn't had any major changes to its graphics engine since CoD4, at least, as far as I can tell. Tell them that graphics aren't everything, and if they don't like how Minecraft doesn't make sense, ask them how often people in real life die from a flying knife handle to the foot.
That's like saying My Little Pony is stupid; without having watched, nor analyzed it. It's so obviously prejudiced. And they have no facts to back their opinion up. We have an entire fanbase.(Minecraft fanbase. Not... y'know... the 3000+ page thread in off-topic...)
