I see endless threads posted about how Minecraft has become boring or repetitive to some people. They complain about how they have everything, have done everything, and know everything about Minecraft. Then I find out that these are the people who sit around learning the easiest ways to mine, they build mob grinders for infinite items, they use mods to make the game easier by removing or adding things.
Now maybe, just maybe, these people have ruined what made Minecraft fun themselves. I've never mined in a specific way, I've never made a mob grinder, hell I've never even made a cake in Minecraft. Maybe people need to stop looking up the facts on how to do everything and just play the game once and a while.
(I know people can play however they want, but don't come and complain when you've lost interest because you sat down and learned everything from the internet in one night. Also, I know I'm pretty much complaining about complainers but so what, sue me)
Hmm. Worth thinking about, but still, it's kind of repetitive if you don't know what to build...
Very true but besides building, there is just so much to do. If someone runs around and does everything to do, it's not the games fault they run out of things to entertain themselves.

I've been playing Minecraft for a few weeks now, and I disagree with that statement. There is not "just so much to do" in Minecraft aside from building things... at least not a whole lot thats very entertaining. You can mine, which is just a boring requirement to building things. You can also go around fighting things, but the combat system isn't really going to thrill many people (its fine when its simply a means to defend yourself, but it can't stand on its own... its just far too simple). Thats really the extent of Minecraft aside from building things. After all, thats what the game is all about... Mining and Crafting, hence the name.
As for the game getting boring, you need to like building things, or be the creative type (or both) for Minecraft to have long term value since there are no "gameplay" elements that can carry the game aside from that. Without some massive updates (given Minecrafts update history, that seems almost impossible) to the entire game, Minecraft is never going to be a game thats fun to play by going out and adventuring. Adding some half-***ed NPC system, or a few cookie cutter quests to the game will never make it a fun adventure game. They just make the world a little more interesting while your building things.
Either way, whats it to you that someone is bored with the game? They bought the damn thing and its their right to let the developer know how they feel... even if their feelings about the game happens to offend you for some odd reason.
Couple other notes about your main post:
1. Make the game easier? Minecraft isn't hard to begin with. Sure gathering resources is a pain sometimes, but you can always play creative mode for that.
2. If I can make a game boring simply by looking up how to do things in said game, then the game is not fun to begin with. For example, I can read up on everything there is to know about an Elder Scrolls game... yet I can then turn around and play it for hours on end and enjoy every minute. Why? Because the gameplay is fun... and knowing everything about the game does not change that.
3. Maybe you need to stop telling people how to play...
It's pretty much a true story for me. Sometimes I wish I never really knew anything about the game. It's gotten bland for me before, but now that I've turned vanilla it's a lot more fun. I've been squeezing a lot out of minecraft. By now, most games would have run out of juice. But this, this game, just keeps filling the cup.
EDIT: For the record, I started Minecraft in Alpha 1.2.6. I became a "pro" in Beta 1.3_01. I looked up all there was of minecraft.
I have lots of fun playing minecraft :smile.gif:
I have just started teaching myself how to use the pistons and made some awesome doors lol
but usually I just run around and do what i ever, I don't really give myself a goal. Just every now and then if I feel like building a house I'll build one then move on to another area.. but I prefer playing on a server because even when there's nothing to do there's still the social interaction :biggrin.gif:

1. I know Minecraft isn't that hard but I'm talking about people who install something like the fly mod so they don't have to walk everywhere. Or that mod that lets you exchange dirt for diamond and stuff. Mods like that would ruin the games lasting fun for me.
2.You can't really compare looking up everything for say Oblivion compared to looking up everything in Minecraft. when you look up stuff in Oblivion, yeah it's still going to be fun because that doesn't effect the gameplay. However, in Minecraft, when people look up how to do certain things, like mine a certain way, or the easiest way to gather the most amount of items that are rare, it sort of ruins what Minecraft was about.
3.I wasn't telling people how to play. I was trying to point out to people that say it's boring, that maybe they had made the game boring themselves. By looking up every little thing about the game.
